Hello everyone! I am so glad to see a group of people striving towards the same goal I am. I am a 42 year old nurse that needs to lose 120 lbs. I have tried many many forms of diets before. Some with success and some not so much. I had a lot of success with the Atkins diet but could never stay with it more than about 3 weeks. I was also afraid I would drive my cholesterol through the roof. So I began researching the HCG diet. I liked what I read and decided to give it a try. I started with a weight clinic on 9/4/12. I saw a physician, discussed what I needed to do, had a physical and lab drawn. After receiving a clean bill of health we made a plan. I am currently doing a modified form of the HCG diet. I am following a 1200 calorie diet, drinking 64 ounces of water a day, and exercising about an hour a day. Mostly walking, but I do like the beginner kick boxing tape I have. I am getting an HCG/B12 injection once a week to help with fat loss and energy. So far I have lost 15 pounds. That is about 1.5 pounds a day. Has it been easy? No way! I would love to hear what everyone else is doing to lose weight. This will be a long and agonizing journey. I hope to make some friends along the way.

Its has been 17 months into my journey, this month i changed my eating habits around. While it did not work for me as far as losing more weight, I lost a size in clothing. I am starting to test out ways on how i will maintain my weight when i decide I am at the size I want to stay. My next goal is 222.5, which is exactly half of my starting weight; which i am thinking should come off within this next month, for my 1 1/2 year anniversary.

FINALLY!!!! I am out of the 400's and into the 300's! After my workout Friday i weighed in at 397.2 for a total loss of 161 pounds so far. I'm still shooting for 200 lost by Christmas, which will be 1 year and 2 weeks into my journey. I have to admit that I caught a tear in my eye when I saw that I was out of the 4's. I think I have been over 400 lbs for probably 15 years now. Not anymore! I'm going to be getting a couple tattoos as reminders and motivation. I'm going to get the kanji symbol for "unstoppable" on one wrist, and 558 in roman numerals on the other.

Cheribear, it's nice to have you here. I have heard of the HCG diet, but I'm not entirely sure what it all entails, though seeing it involves injections doesn't exactly make it appealing to me. I hope that it's working for you though. And make sure you update on how you're doing too!

Clay, that's incredible. I love seeing your posts every month. It's like a little surprise that shows me how much of a difference a month can make. I'm starting to think just posting once a month about the actual loss, numerically speaking, might be the most encouraging way to carry on.

Mike, congratulations! I can't imagine what that must be like, to cross a threshold like that, but I know you must be feeling so great. I love the idea of those 2 tattoos. Especially the kanji symbol. I think "Unstoppable" is a pretty apt description of anyone who is willing to take on a challenge like any of us have, and then to prove that it can be accomplished.

Goatless, I hope to hear more from you. Keep up with it and I'm sure you'll start seeing improvement soon!

As for me, I lost 2.5 lbs. Not bad. That takes me to a total so far of 21 pounds lost. I can't say that I love having the weight come off so slowly. I do know though that this is really for the best. I've slowly been able to recognize little things that just make me realize that I'm doing things right.

I have energy now through the roof! Okay, not that much, but I am definitely more ready to go than I had been for quite a while. My sister says I'm driving her insane with how energetic I've become. On Sunday, someone paid me a compliment on my appearance. And instead of rolling my eyes or just shrugging off the compliment, something that I have done quite a bit of the past couple of years, I accepted it and told her I appreciated hearing that. A little cathartic, I think. Then to top it off, my swimming trunks FIT ME! I even did a little dance in them I was so pleased with myself. These are the same swimming trunks that I was not able to wear in June because the button kept popping open. Now, they fit snugly when they're dry, but are almost falling off when I'm swimming. I am ecstatic.

So, to wrap up my rambling, I'm doing very well. I so enjoy seeing how well you all have done. Until the next time, I hope you all have a great week.

So I just hit 15 stone mark! Thats 2 stone or 28lbs gone in 2 months. It would be great to shed 2 more before christmas but even if I just manage one that will be great inroads to where I need to get to.

Unfortunetly my energy is through the floor not the roof and I have been feeling very unwell these past few weeks, but I think its down to time of year rather than diet. I am also suffering from gigantic headaches. Probably a mix of detox and cutting back on carbs.

Well done everyone else! Looking forward to reading about everyones success next month.

Hello everyone..kudos to all of your for losing the weight that you have so far. I have been struggling pretty much my whole life with losing weight and it sucks. I think it is awesome that you all are taking an initative to lose the weight but I would like to ask anyone of you that have lost the weight did you excerise to lose the weight or what was it that you did ? The reason I ask is i am pushing almost 300lbs and I broke my ankle 8mos ago and I'm still having problems with it so exercise right now really is not an option to much so that is why ive been depressed about my weight. Any feed back would be appreciated. Thanks

Haven't had a good time of it lately. I wasn't making myself be positive because I managed to some how screw up my car. I cracked the radiator and there's a host of other problems that I've been having to deal with as a result of not having a car.

BUT- a couple of weeks ago, I realized this was actually probably a blessing in disguise. I've been having to walk to the bus stop, a couple of blocks away from my house, to get to work. It's been working very well. I'm walking about an hour and a half every day on top of other activities.

Although I haven't been able to get to the gym, and thus have not had a chance to weigh in since the last time I posted, I have seen a difference. My clothes are fitting so much better and in some cases are looser than before. I'll probably have to go get some more jeans in the next month or so if this carries on.

My car won't be in running condition until late December to early January since I have to buy parts and the person who's working on it isn't available until then. Frankly, I do miss my car to run errands and in case I sleep in and miss the bus, but other than that, I'm enjoying all of this. I'm actually planning on not taking my car to work unless absolutely necessary (twofold benefit there- 1. the walking and 2. I'm saving tons in gas money) and just using it for errands and travel outside my city.

In any case, I'm so glad to see how you're doing Galwaylass and Clay. Good for you guys!

Galwaylass- I hope you're getting your energy back. I went through a phase a couple of months back where if I didn't get a heavy workout everyday, I was left feeling so lethargic and depressed. Not fun and not motivating.

Clay- It's so exciting to see how you're doing. Congratulations on where you're at man!

Slimcassy and Catie39, I'd love to see how you two are doing as well. Hope things are going well.

Catie, is there some activity your doctor may be able to recommend or has recommended? Are you able to do water aerobics?

Week One

A few years ago I got down to 225lbs. That was a 45lb weight loss for me and I was so proud of myself. I suffered from a seizure and then P.T.S.D. which sent me sprialing out of control.

Now that I am in recovery I have started to gain control of my life and working towards that healthy lifestyle again. My goal is to be below 200lbs by the time I hit 45 years of age. I am currently 42 and I think that is a realistic time frame. I am 5'6" and I'm blessed with an endomorph body type. (ugh!!)

Anyway I'm going to weigh in every Saturday. My start weight this week was 290lbs. My first goal is 10lbs by the end of November. Something very realistic and attainable. I just need to boost some of my self confidence. Your stories even the set backs give me hope. Thanks,

Lori

October 20th - 290 lbs start weight
