I hate the word "ONLY"
This is just my perspective, and no one need agree with me. I'm just sayin':
I absolutely hate the word "ONLY", as in "I've only lost...". We need to start being proud of our acheivements, no matter how big or small and no matter how long it took to get there. Using the word "only" in itself is negative. My suggestion is to turn it into a positive, as in, "I've already lost..." Another suggestion for those (and I'm just as guilty) who say "I've only lost 20 pounds" is next time you are at the grocery store, pick up two bags of potatoes and carry them around for the entire shopping trip. Afterwards, you'll never use the word only again. Stand and be proud of our accomplishments...look how far we've come. (Sorry...when I'm passionate about something, I tend to get a little preachy) |
I love your potato bag suggestion!

love your idea Dizzy!!!!
losing weight never comes easy, it does take a lot of commitment and hard work!!!!!:) |
I've "already" lost 29 lbs..that's "only" as much as my son weighs :D
I get a good reminder just how much that is every time he gets a piggyback ride. |
Amazing suggestion, Dizzy. You are so right! Words are powerful and we shouldn't undermine our achievements, we should celebrate the victories, big and small! Thanks for being "preachy!"

Great words of inspiration...my mom and I use butter sticks...as in "I've melted away 3 sticks of butter this week." or "I just got rid of a stick of butter"

Wow...makes me want to go to the grocery store and stack up 30 lbs of butter. 4 sticks in a pound, right? That means I've melted 120 sticks of butter! Go me!
