Sandy wiped out our power for 26 hours. We got our electricity back last night and our and cable just tonight. The storm took down half of the sunset maple tree we planted for our DD for her first birthday. Other than that, we're OK but the city and Long Island and some of the boroughs got hit hard.
So glad to see you back, Quinn. Welcome home.
Glad things seem to be working out with WHN, Tori.
And Lisa, now you see why it's called a motivational thread.
More tomorrow... Hope y'all had a happy Halloween.
Yesterday went amazingly almost perfect...until about 10p.m. when my husband put the halloween candy bars in the fridge on the 2nd shelf right at my eye level. It was my undoing. I am embarrassed to admit that I had quite a few of those "fun size" candy bars (not so fun when they end up on my hips). I almost didn't log them; I was dreading the numbers. But I did it and stared at the ugly truth. Not a good moment. I took the candy out of the fridge, divvied it up among the kids and dh and put them in ziploc bags with their names on them. I know it's only a mind game, but even if it's on the counter where I can see it, if it's bagged up with the kids' names on them I don't touch them (stealing candy from a kid is terrible lol).
1. Goal is less than 1600 calories/day.
No...closer (1913), very close 1677! Waaaay out of control.
2. Continue logging all food no matter how ugly it gets.
did it! yep. yes, even though it was horrible and scary to look at.
3. Take meds 2x day on time.
yes! yes! did it.
4. Weigh & measure everything.
yes! did good. yes.
I really need to stay on track today. Here's my plan:
Breakfast:
oatmeal, milk, brown sugar, stevia, raisins

Canary, sorry to hear that Sandy hit you like it did. Other than the property damage, I hope everything is ok with you and your family.
Lisa, Mondays & Tuesdays are often low for me. I'm making up for the weekend before or the week I have planned. My typical menu is:
Breakfast: 1 cup Raisin Bran w/ yogurt
Mid-Morn: Apple
Lunch: Lettuce, &/or spinach salad w/ broccoli, feta/parma cheese, Ken's Raspberry dressing
Mid. Afternoon: Halloween minis, oops!
Dinner: Turkey Breast, 1/2 cup sweet potato, broccoli cooked
Alternate on Tues w/ Boiled egg, plums, unroasted mixed nuts
We cooked a Turkey breast (smoked) on Sunday & it was really good. Will eat on that for a few days. I was keeping the portions small.
Wed.s though, was off the charts. Halloween candy and tortilla chips, and restaurant Fajitas.
Confession of Halloween Sins
Kit Kat (mini)
Milky Way (mini)
White bean soup
Pork roast
Glass of red wine at potluck (limit one at this point and doing pretty good)
Meatballs (lost count)
Prosciutto/Salami/Pepperoni tray snacks
Cheese tray snacks
Dinner roll
White wine (handed out in plastic cups by a neighbor while Trick-or-Treating with DS, how could I refuse?)
Reece’s peanut butter cup (mini)
More red wine (invited into another neighbor’s house, and again... could not refuse ;-) - Think I’m up to 3 glasses of wine now…
I think I gave myself nitrite poisoning from all the processed meat and likely have a little bit of a hang-over today… and my jeans are definitely fitting tight!
A bit of redemption on Halloween
DS had a blast hanging out with a ton of kids!
Catching-up with good friends and neighbors!
Knowing it's okay to blow it on food every once in a while - as long as I get back on track the next day!
