Post How is it going?

I just wanted to check in with everyone.
How are things going? I am doing OK. I almost totally fell off the wagon on Friday night, as I let my hubby order pizza and wings! Ugggh...thought I could control myself, but I ate too much!!
However, Sat & Sun I did not do too bad at all. I did not get a chance to log my food - so now I forget the details of what I ate. Today, I have done well again.
I know I need to do 2 things to help me:

1) Buyu a good scale! Mine is old and a rotary style, so the weight is not exact, nor does it tell oz's and I need to see every little loss for motivdation! So I must get a decent scall. Any suggestions?

2) I have to exercise! I wan to get back to the gym and on the elliptical, but it is not in the budget just yet. However, I could get a yoga DVD or something.

I have noticed that not being too hard on myself has helped me stick with it this time. Previously, I would have dropped off the road completely after falling off the wagon, but I didn't and it helped me regain momentum. Also, I am making small changes as I go..knowing that every good choice matters. It has helped to eat more veggies as a side dish vs. potatoes, fries, etc.

Tell us how you are doing and anything that is helping you?

Hang in there ladies, we can do it!

Hi there,

It is nice to meet you. I am 5' 1" and I weigh 152 lbs. I was 110 lbs before I had my daughter. After I had my daughter I went back to being 120lbs so I can't even blame pregnancy. Then it slowly started ccreeping up on me and now I can't even believe I let myself get to this weight. My weight bothers me so much that it severly affects my self esteem. I am always tired and feel sluggish. I really really want to lose weight an reach my target weight of 120lbs. Also I want to eat healthier so that my daughter can learn by example. I am hoping that with all your motivations and success stories, I will be successful.

Hi Destiny,
I'm gonna try this again. For some reason my computer or this program is not allowing me to respond? First of all who could resist Pizza and Wings (YUM) the important thing to realize it you got back on your diet- so now you're stronger and Strong= SEXY!Sometimes having a cheat day once a week actually helps you stick to a diet longer and the temporary influx of calories boost your metabolism. I have a digital scale with a number read out and it keeps track of my wieght too As far as exercse goes I used to watch a good program on PBS called Body Electric which combined Aerobic and body sculpting exercises it comes on @ 730 so check your local listings Keep it up you're doing great!

So I caved in on Saturday I went to Dennys with my sisters and i had a burger! ( i ate half of it there for lunch and the other half for dinner)ugh!!!! but I didnt order fries I order a fruit salad instead and an Iced Tea with no sugar (i put splenda instead) I felt so awful afterwards but the rest of the weekend I did pretty good.

I have noticed that I am paying much more attention to portions, but I know I have to try and be better, even when going to restaurants I know theres a way to eat healthy...

i will keep you posted...

Hi all, I would like to join the sexy girls club too. I am a mother of 4 ages 2-14, wife, and nurse. I am 31 y/o 5'8" and 242. I have never been this heavy in my entire life. I want to feel energetic & confident again, and right now I don't. Just started yesterday journaling what I am eating, and did 30 min on treadmill last night.

I would appreciate any suggestions or tips that work for you all. I want to feel "sexy" again!

KSgril - You came to the right place...we're all here to help! I'm also a RN - I work midnights which can definately make dieting hard, but I was making it harder on myself by staying up late on my nights off too. More hours awake= More hours to eat. I wasn't getting a good night sleep ever. Sleep is very important! It sounds as if you're on the right track with using a diet journal and exercising! I've heard increasing your water intake helps too...that's one I have trouble with. Welcome to our group

Talking Welcome!

Welcome Jan & KSgirl! Great to have you!
Sounds like we are hanging in there and doing the right things. I keep reminding myself...small steps! Slow & steady wins the race. I am eating well, especially compared to prior to 1/4 when I started. I am really watching the portion control. For dinner, I now use a smaller plate or rounded bowl. It really helps...b/c I tend to always finish my plate. But if there is less there, I don't go back for 2nds and eat less! It really works for me.
We recently got Netflix, and I have added some exercise videos to my instant que (can watch anytime). So now I just have to do one. But seems the only time I can is after 8pm...after a full day of work, dinner, taking care of a 2 yr old, bedtime, etc. So by now, I am tired and so do not want to exercise. uggh!
I may need to get up early to do it!
One thing at a time.
Hang in there ladies. We are more sexy just for being on this journey!
Thanks for all the support to one another. I know I appreciate it!

Hi girls, Thanks for all the words of encouragement. I've been doing pretty good with keeping track of my foods which makes me more accountable to myself. Still not doing very good with the exercise. Just need to make the time, just can't figure out when to fit it in. Does anybody else have the problem that when you leave to work out you feel like you are not being a "good mom/wife"? I know I'm not but that is just how it feels sometimes.
