Default Monthly Period and Calories

Sorry for my ignorance in this but is it safe to continue on a low calorie lifestyle while i am on my period?

On Atkins, I never worried about calories now since I am doing this the right way, I wanna make sure I do this smart!

I would think that a calorie amount that is safe when you're not on your period is safe when you are. I did read recently that women tend to eat more when they are on, but not that more calories are needed, not like breastfeeding, for example.

Yes, it is safe to continue a low calorie diet but watch closely to the amount of iron you are eating. Aim for more iron during this time to keep from feeling weaker then usual.

I like to make my own beetroot juice. It is an excellent blood builder.
