Glad you had a good time, Quinn!

Enviable position, Mike, having to go eat 550 calories. Great job on the goals today!!

1. Calorie deficit of 350 daily, on average. 346, 353, 352, 348
2. Balance the pie chart. Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes
3. 64 oz. water daily. 66, 70, 66, 64
4. Total 5 fruits and veggies daily. 5, 5, 4, 5
5. 25 grams fiber daily (no supplements). 28, 32, 37, 26
6. Exercise 6/7 days. Rest day, Tennis, Weights, Treadmill

7. Be positive! Reframe stress and focus on what I'm thankful for (I'm truly in a funk lately; everything seems to be going wrong). Struggling, Little better, Pretty good today, Pretty good
8. Get shade garden done by end of weekend. Not yet
9. Work on cleaning garage before it gets too hot! Not yet
10. Paint one room's trim IFF no tourney this weekend. There's no tourney, so I gotta do it

I think this evening was the worst exercise I've ever had. Long story short, I was on the treadmill because it got too late, dark, and chilly to run and walk outside. Stomach cramps, foot pain, ankle pain, slipped to the side and almost fell once...I don't know what was going on. Every minute felt bad. I'm glad to say I did it, but I sure didn't enjoy it. I hope whatever's going on with the foot isn't going to last. I know it's time for new running shoes; I may have to bite the bullet and go get my stride analyzed and pony up for the ones they tell me best fit my feet and the way I move.

Hope you all had a great day and a great night

Quinn
I wouldn't call myself "young", not really. I'm 30 now, so 29 when she died, and have dealt with things I would hesitate to wish on my own worst enemy, although it turns out he (who is responsible for some of my issues) is now under a restraining order and probation and community service for assault on his last girlfriend. If I say it didn't surprise me to find out, it might give you some idea of what he did to me.
I think the hens would be a good idea - not just as something enjoyable to do (bar mucking them out, but 20-30 mins a week is nothing really) but also as a source of fresh, healthy eggs which invariable taste better than 90% of store-bought. And if you give the hens fresh cabbage and other green vegetables (they love cabbage, spinach, lettuce and chilled cucumber is great in the summer of is one is feeling a bit down) the yolks become richer and darker. You can make the eggs healthier by feeding the chickens appropriately, but they can be a bit noisy. A water sprayer helps there, a little squirt doesn't hurt them, but they don't like it and they usually shut up.

Terri
The bitterness is mainly at the doctors for not paying proper attention to her MRIs, the tumour was there, and growing, but they weren't looking for *a* tumour, they were looking for *the same* tumour she had before. Tho I have to say I actually DESPISE most of my father's side of the family (not his mother or oldest brother but the rest of them) for pretending most of the time that we don't exist (we're not rich enough to be worth they're while) and not even having the decency to attend the funeral. She was their sister-in-law, their aunt, and they never visited once in the 3 years she was in care either, yet people she'd never met, partners of her nieces and nephews on her side of the family, skipped work to come to the funeral. I still cringe at how much I baked the night before for the wake which was at her oldest sister's huge house; brownies (from a mix, tho) cakes, cheesecake, traybakes, cookies, tarts, cupcakes... I think I covered most of the dining room table all on my own, and 90% of it had chocolate in it somewhere.

Almeeker,
Most of the people I know think chucking a chicken and some potatoes in the oven and having them come out edible makes them a chef. But like they say - never trust a skinny cook. I like my own cooking too much, that's for sure, and my specialty, as you may have guessed from above, is desserts. Tastebud heaven, waistline hell. As for being a "fat chick", you're numbers tell me otherwise! Perhaps you were, but I can't judge without seeing and I'm really not the one to comment, being not too far under 200# myself (even when I behave for weeks on end, the scales don't want to budge). 140 is my current end-goal, which puts me at the top end of the healthy range for my 5'3" frame, but I was a UK 12-14 (US 10-12, I think) at that weight, which suited me fine as I've always been heavier than I look as I'm stronger too, and I didn't have to struggle to stay that way.

Mern,
My mother only turned 50 the month before, but my father turned 60 2 weeks before it happened and both my grandmothers are still alive, so it's still rather unreal. With her being in the nursing home so long before it happened, it didn't really feel that different, unreal is definitely the word.
Aki just loves people. I handled her a lot as a chick, so she got used to it, and she would wriggle in my hands until she was standing on them, using my fingers like a perch. She's a bit big for finger-perches now, but she's happy to stand on a flat hand just the same. As for my canines, they're different, and I like different. When I was a kid, I was called "freak" and "weirdo" by the school bullies, and adopted the idea that if *THAT* was "normal", then I didn't want to be, as what they were doing was bad. It just kinda stuck, and now affects a lot of how I am as a person generally.

Cassie,
"Food porn" LOL - that term was used to describe the adverts of a certain dpartment store's food section once, and they actually scrapped the oh-so-sexy female voice that did it because people were complaining about how hungry it was making them It's just a pity that salad doesn't really have what it takes, or I'd probably eat more of that and less sugar-laden tasty junk!

Mike,
The Treadmill Dance - WTH? I think that's guys had something freaky in his OJ. Perhaps he should try some of this instead... YouTube - Berocca TV ad

Thanks, Quinn! Maybe I'll take advantage of my "teenage" status and act rebellious and wild for DH today just for the fun of it. LOL

I'm glad to say that I pulled it together (on Friday... ugh!) and the unhealthy, destructive eating has past. I've given up on eating perfectly this week and am happy with just getting back on track and not losing it all together. Today is going to be sunny and warm which does wonders for one's spirits after nearly a week of cold, wind and rain. Off to the grocery store to restock the house with healthy food for the weekend.

Food and Fitness:

* Eat clean and stay close to 1400 calories. Y, over by 10 malted milk balls and 2 peeps. lol No, a very "dumb old day". Over by 3 vodka sours, but was ok'd by Cassie, my shrink... If you could give me a script for that shaker, I'd be one happy girl!
* Lots of water. Y, Y,Y, Y
* 3-4 fruits and veggies a day. 2, 2, 2, 2
* Limit breads and cereals. N, acceptable, N, Y

Personal Goals:

* Must finish beading prom dress for Saturday!!! Today, 3 hours in; about 3 to go, should be done today, YES!
* Take a break from spring cleaning this week. Taking today off... back's killing me. Y, N, Worked at mom's yesterday, Yes, enjoyed a wonderful day off.
* Learn to relax! Tell myself it's ok to sit quietly and read or do nothing at all. I don't have to be "accomplishing something" all of the time. Stop feeling guilty about taking time off. Finishing the dress, then taking the day off with a heating pad. (Haha... that didn't happen.) Looks like another busy day today. Very busy day yesterday. Yes.
* Present a positive attitude to others. Y, Y, Sadly, no. Yes.
