I'm not a professional but I have a friend who is losing weight under doctors orders and she talks about it all the time. She was told that to drop below 1200 calories a day puts your body into starvation mode and you won't lose the weight. The body, apparently, then takes energy from your muscles, so you lose them first, before you lose the fat. Can you see a doctor and get advice on how to lose weight? Maybe they'd be able to help you with a proper explanation as to why you're not succeeding as you hope to be?
