It's best to weigh food if possible and go by ounces

I never weigh veggies!! I figure I can eat as much as I want, as long as it isn't a starchy veg. For meats I use the deck of cards as the size comparison. Breads by slice, cereal by the cup, etc. If I had to measure everything, I would give up! Too much hassle for real life....for me anyways. 8)

I live by my food scale...I've found it's faster than measuring cups/spoons, way more accurate, and gives me a visual on appropriate serving size. For instance, I put my dinner plate on the scale, tare it out to zero, then load my food on. Very helpful for me any way. I just bought a $20 cheapy at WalMart.
