Diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome

Hi everyone! I am new to this site and I was wondering if anyone esle here has any experience with polycystic ovarian syndrome. I am a 5`7, 29 year old female who was diagnosed with this 2 years ago after spontaneously gaining 60 pounds over the course of 2 months. I have never been a thin person but always very healthy, active and loving that I am a curvy girl. This extra weight is very difficult for me and my condition makes losing weight extremely difficult. Its hard not to think back to how easy I used to be able to lose weight, everything about me is different now. I was looking to speak with others who have had similar experiences with this condition. The things I`ve read say that most have the same experience as I did but usually can take years to diagnose correctly wich is super frustrating. I was lucky to have a great doctor who had known me since birth and knew that I had always lead a very healthy lifestyle. Anyways, if you have any input please, let me know! Thanks!

Hi there. I'm not sure if i can plug a certain diet on this site, but I will try. My sister has PCOS and I've helped her to lose weight with the low G.I. diet which is for diabetics. She isn't diabetic. My doctor prescribed this for me only because I was having terrible cravings. It's worked. This diet works on blood sugar and is great for those who have PCOS also which i found out in the low G.I. Diet book I've read. It's called he Low G.I. Diet Revolution by Jenny Brand Miller. It isn't a crash diet but when combined with exercise - it works fast! Best of luck!
