500 calorie cut a day is hard. Try to cut it 150 a day until you get use to it, then cut it down again by that much. Until you get to the amount you need. Weight loss is a little slower, but I have found I can tolerate it better and don't binge as much.

I hope I'm making sense. I feel like I'm talking in circles today.
