Well, I shouldn't be surprised to see a five-pound gain from vacation, eating what I did and being off my normal exercise routine for a whole week. (Hiking was fun but not aerobic, and not good for strength training even if I did carry the pack). I'm hoping that this is temporary and doubt I ate enough calories for it to be five pounds of fat gain, but we'll see how the next few days go. Anyway, it is recovery mode for me this week and probably the next one or two as well. Experience has taught me that I can snap back into it; I guess the next step is preventing it to begin with. I'll have my chance to do that over Thanksgiving at the House of Schizophrenic Food.

Been doing well on the water (one of my goals), so-so on the getting-enough-sleep issue. Will continue to work on both.

Hope you all are making progress toward your goals and enjoying the changing of the seasons in a lot of fun ways !

hi cassie, glad you are taking the 5lb gain in stride. I am sure you are right and that it will come off in the next week or two. good job for having a fun vacation and not letting this become too big of a deal. my goal for thanksgiving is the same as yours...prevent overdoing it!

i will check-in with everyone after WW tonight. I have some major water to drink today after all of the prosciutto i ate last night (i forgot to mention it during the food porn session!). still feeling full but i think I should eat Bfast anyways...?

just curious do you guys eat breakfast if you AREN'T hungry? i'm usually famished but today-not so much!

I'm with you and Julia, Cassie, regarding the 5# being gone in a few days time. Glad you had a good time!

Julia, I always eat breakfast (even if I went overboard the night before). It just seems to get me back on track. Otherwise, I end up in a "reactive" mindset rather than a proactive one.

Well, this weekend was not good calorie wise. Way too many on Saturday! I started cleaning up my food choices on Sunday and the scale was kind to me today (down a pound from last week). I went back to my fail-proof method of planning on paper everything that I would eat and at what time I would eat it and then wrote it down on paper as soon as I ate or drank anything. Seems to have gotten me back on track. Thank goodness...I felt totally bloated!

Even though I'm using the paper method for tracking at the moment, I intend to check in to see how my fitness buds are doing!

Tuesdays are a great day for this ! I'm back on the wagon after my daughters birthday party weekend (she's 12) with Pizza and hotdogs and chips and chocolate.

BlackRhino...I don't eat breakfast until I'm hungry which is NEVER long at these calories.

cjohnson...Glad you had a great vacation. I'm right there with you ! I heard that green tea counts as water. (?) I'm finding that as I'm losing weight I'm typically sleeping less. Strange.

MY next check in with you guys will be in two weeks as my sister and I are on a cruise from Vancouver to Los Angeles. They say count on 1 lb/day on a cruise. (my last one was 21 days and I only gained 3 lbs so I think I'll be okay...I don't 'graze' like most)

Happy last week of September.

Hi Everyone!

Well, sounds like I'm right with you all. Instead of losing, I'm actually up a pound... again. Not surprised, though. Way to many parties, receptions, football parties, etc., etc... (Actually, I deserved much worse.) Not worried... I'm back on a more even schedule now. I think some stress levels that I've been experiencing are actually keeping my weight down! lol

Have found that 115 is too low for me (near "underweight" for my BMI) so I'm shooting for 116-118. I think my clothes look better there, too. At 115, nothing fit quite right.

Glad to know that after eating a lot of buffet-style food, nothing was all that great and I'm happy with my healthy choices.

This is the longest I've ever kept my weight off and I don't really feel like I'm "missing out" on anything, either. Maybe I'm finally "getting it". =)

Hi Everyone, Seems like a lot of us are dealing with too much food over the weekend. I decided to skip the scale today since my weekend included over indulging in potato chips and chocolate and I know I'm bloated. Cassie has a much better attitude of knowing the numbers aren't really true weight gain and getting herself on track. I am always fighting the urge to throw the scale out the window and eat a bag of peanut M&M's .
Glad to hear I'm not alone. Let's pull it together for a better week of eating that goes right into the weekend!

Mambo, I did the same thing...skipped weighing in for a few days after coming home. My signature line said something like...afraid to look. I usually wait till I am in a stronger mental place, then assess damage. Wish you hadn't mentioned the M&Ms...it's taking everything I have to stay off the lowfat frozen yogurt in my freezer that IMO is so good it will make you cry! But this is not the time for splurges . You have a great attitude today .

Quinn, I'm glad you brought that up...I got down to 104 before vacation and it was a weird feeling...like it was too low, even for my height, but I was so conditioned to always feeling "too high" that I was kind of in denial. So we'll see where I settle after the effects of vacation disappear. Speaking of the clothes fitting...I had the jeans experience from hades last week...gave in and ordered those AE jeans ($20 cheaper on internet; couldn't resist), and, while two differernt sizes fit on the legs, they both fell down my rear whenever I went up the stairs!! So either I have a really weird build, or God did not intend for people my age to wear low rise.

Ridge_Runner, enjoy your trip. Sounds wonderful! Given my history with vacation, a cruise would terrify me!

Beth, good for you for going back to the drawing board and doing what works. I hope that one day I know myself that well .

Julia, I always eat breakfast also. I am never hungry in the AM so it is usually small, like oatmeal made with milk (the real kind, not the packet), a bowl of Kashi and fruit, or a wheat English muffin with peanut butter. The only time I don't is if I binged so bad the night before that I still feel sick...then I usually just drink some tea or something.

I gained a pound at WW. I was honestly shocked. I must have done some MAJOR damage last night with the sushi and sangria bc I barely ate anything all day and the rest of the week I was on track. I'm completely insane for going so overboard last night. I slept horribly bc my stomach hurt.

I couldn't eat bfast bc I still felt full from the night before. All day I wasn't hungry and I only ate a small FF chobani plain yogurt, celery, and 1 carrot. I went to WW and was up a pound. good lord. I'm blaming it on the humidity and my heavy pants...plus last night's self-sabotage, of course.

Next week will have to be a loss..or I have to pay $13 again! I'm going to weigh myself Sat morning and hopefully that will also show a loss from the 128.4 weight I was this past saturday morning.

I was tempted by the Taco Bell sign after WW but thankfully decided against it and came home to healthy meal.

I don't think God intended anyone over the age of 13 to wear low rise. I did not do well on the weekend either, pizza with hot wings one day, chinese take out on the other. Today my office manager decided she needs to lose 10 lbs, the other tech I work with said she did too. So the manager decides she's going to create an office pool for whoever wants in, on the honor system we all put 5 bucks in an envelope, and whoever loses 10 lbs first gets the envelope. I have 12 lbs to go and have been stuck so I figure, what the heck? I'll only be out 5 dollars when I lose lol, but maybe it's the kick in the pants I need to finish this quest I'm on.
