I'm interested to know if anyone has any info about how long it takes for a good day to show up on the scales. I wonder if there's any research on it? I know you're not supposed to weigh yourself every day but I do. Sometimes I'll be really good one day and the next day the scales disappoint me. Then other times I might have a bad day of eating and then the next day be pleasantly surprised by the scales. I have a theory that the weight loss you see in the morning is from the work done 2 days ago. Anyone else agree?

I don't know that there is any direct correlation/causality that simple. There are so many factors that influence any one day on a scale, such as water, sodium (related to water), where you food is digestion-wise (a nice way of saying when you last went to the bathroom and how much ), time of the month, as well as the calorie balance itself. I think these all intertwine at a different pace. If you are having good weigh-ins two days after a good food day, I would think it would be more due to the fact that you had better quality food in your system, less sodium, less water retention, etc.

But that's just my two cents and not based on any science, although I've had enough research classes to know that extraneous variables (and there are many in weight loss) will throw off any direct variation. I'm interested in hearing what others have experienced and the ways they conceptualize it.
