I was just browsing through the forum and I thought there was a need for those of us who are trying to lose weight in the 5-15 lbs. range. My weight is in the healthy range but one of my resolutions for the New Year is to lose the 5 pounds I've been trying to lose since college and really get in shape.
I used to run a lot and make it to the gym at least 3 times a week but in the last year or so I've really fallen out of that routine. I've definitely noticed a loss of tone and definition in my abs, butt and legs. Anyone else have 5-15 pounds to lose and want to discuss?

Hello! I just got on the scale today after deciding to get back to working out and keeping track of what I eat. Ideally, I'd love to lose 10 to 15 pounds and I've always found FitDay plus an exercise program to work like a charm.
I used to run, bike and swim about 4 times a week and do weights. I no longer have a gym membership, so I'm trying to do all of this at home. Numbers and charts motivate me, that's why I keep returning to this site. So, I'm here to lose a bit of weight and definitely tone up. You'll have at least one person to discuss your progress with!

Hello! I also would like to be a partner in this club. I have never really had to watch my weight or what I ate but it seems now that I have hit my mid 40's I have about 10 pounds that have gathered in my mid section and it is very uncomfortable. I also notice that I am not toned at all. I have always worked out but I don't think that I am pushing myself as hard as I need to now that my metabolism is slowing down. I also am finding that it seems like some days I can not eat enough. If anyone has any suggestions I would love to hear them. I am hoping to lose the 10 pounds in the next 3 months.

cclaus- Had to laugh when I read your post because I could have written it myself. Never had a real weight issue until 40-45 and yes, it's 10-15 lbs. and for the first time in my life, I have a little belly. I decided to lose 15 lbs. and am happy to report that 5 lbs. are already gone. Hope to lose the remaining 10 by March 15. I do agree that the mid section weight gain is age related but I intend to fight it all the way! This site has been a tremendous help in letting me know what I am doing right (and wrong).

Great idea! I love the other forums and whatnot but always feel slightly "guilty" that I only want to lose about 10 pounds. We all know the comments: "you're fine now", etc...frustrating when your goal is to be FIT!

I think the thing that frustrates me the most is the last 10 lbs. are often the HARDEST to get off and yet, as ArchyJill said, this is when you get the least support because to many you look just fine. People are constantly pushing food at me and getting "huffy" when I wont eat something that is bad for me. But I keep pushing on. 10 lbs. by March 15. I can do it.

WooHoo quinnesec! That's the type of spirit I need. I feel like I've just hit a HUGE brick wall. I'm doing everything right (I think)...drinking tons of water, getting a bunch of fiber, no sugar, not much flour, nearly always a 500 calorie shortfall everyday, running, etc. and NOTHING is happening! In fact I went UP recently and am struggling to get back down

I read somewhere that you should think of your body like a fuel tank that becomes empty every 4 hours and that you should never go more than 4 hours without, at least, a piece of fruit or something healthy to avoid the "starvation mode". This works for me. If I don't do this, it seems my body will protect its fat stores and I won't lose. If I cut my calories too sharply, I wont lose. Does any one have any tips to handle family and friends who want you to "try this" or otherwise push food at you when you're down to losing that last 10 lbs. when they think you look fine? I just want to reach my healthy goal. I wish they would be more encouraging and less "snarky" when I politely refuse to eat something fried or fatty. Any ideas?
