Quinn: Not sure why that's happening. You might want to shoot admin an email. Mine shows up as current day.

Good day everyone. Hope you are all having a great day. My kids are feeling ill today so I am having a quiet day....yippeee.
Anyhow, if any of you had some good fibre ideas I would love to hear them. I am in Canada so perhaps the products available are different from US or other places. I have to admit, I am really not a big fruits and veg eater. I will create that balance for supper and lunch...but snacks through out the day...meh....so I find myself looking for something to bolster my fibre count without adding a ton of calories. Wondered if any of you had some things that you were using that helped. Thanks in advance for any tips.

Tamiele: I know you don't care for veggies, but have you tried broccoli dipped in small amount of hummus or light ranch dressing. I love it and whenever I'm having regularity issues
, it works better than any medicine or fiber product on the market for me. Other than fruits and veggies (which Mom said we need to eat), 3/4 cup of Kashi Golean has 10 grams fiber and 140 calories and it's tasty and fairly low in sugar.

Tamiele--
Oatmeal with any kind of fruit is a great breakfast choice for someone who needs more fiber. I have read a few studies that people who eat oatmeal for breakfast have the greatest weight loss compared to other groups. Many nuts also have a fair amount of fiber including sunflower seeds, pistachio, almonds, and peanuts. Although these nuts may be higher in fat (omega-3-fatty acids and monounsaturated) they are a great source of fiber and protein. Eaten in moderation, I think they are a good addition to someone seeking fiber. Many cereals and whole wheat products have a decent amount of fiber. Many grocery stores also sell high fiber wraps to make sandwiches with in case you are carb counting. |

Is anyone out there a biker? I have used indoor and outdoor cycling for exercise but do not have any device to measure distance. Does anyone know of any products or gadgets that can be connected to a bike to clock mileage?

I cycle every summer... kind of mix up hiking with cycling for a change of pace. My method wasn't very sophisticated, but it worked. I drove around my area and figured out a good path (least amount of starts and stops, some hills for cardio) then I clocked it with my car. My path was exactly 12 miles.
Some may say that the same path would get boring every day, but I actually met some wonderful people (an elderly couple, in particular) that encouraged me to go on every day. It made me look forward to my ride and seeing them. I'm sure there are devices you can buy. Check with your bike shop. Even a big box store, like Walmart, may have them. |

I do the same thing with my walks, only I do it after I've finished the walk because my end point is always home... I find a good place where it will be easy for me to turn around in my jeep and as soon as I get back home I jump in the car. It sounds kind of like a goofy thing to do but it works and it helps to go just a little further because when I'm ready to stop I'll look around and think, "I can't turn my car around here."

Hi ! Re dips: I use light ranch with non fat yogurt, lemon, maybe a little red pepper or curry or something to give it a bite....keep vegies already cut in the refrig so when you are starving you go for it! I think I will take my own advice on that, as I found myself ravenously raiding the refrig last night. Since my dil is visiting every week there are lots of new choices in there! So I am not getting on the scale today! sigh......Remember those eggs! Have fun my beauties, and keep in mind, it could happen!

Hi everyone. I am new to the forums. I am 5'4 - I lost 7 pounds (now 140) and need to lose another 10. I was sick with a virus that kicked up my asthma and it put me behind weeks from being able to work out at the gym.
I am trying to stay motivated but it seems I should be seeing my weight in the 130's by now. I have been trying since the beginning of Feb and have cut my calories by the 500 daily. I am motivated for health reasons to increase my lung strength and endurance. I also am getting married next year so oh yeah there is some motivation there too ![]() I enjoy reading your posts, progress and goals. Keep it up ![]() Di |
