Exclamation Prescription Drugs

Wanted to let you in on something that happened to me yesterday.

Many of us on this thread have been losing weight now since January and so the amount of weight is getting significant. For me, about 18 pounds. If you take a daily prescription maintenance drug, as I do, let your doctor know that you have lost weight!

As I lost weight, my dosage became too great and I ran into some trouble yesterday as a result. The dosage for me at 140 is different than that at 120.
Some prescriptions don't matter, some do. Please check with your doctor.

Feeling a little better today but still yucky. Thought I'd give you guys a "heads-up" because it never occurred to me.

I used to run, bike and swim about 4 times a week and do weights. I no longer have a gym membership, so I'm trying to do all of this at home. Numbers and charts motivate me, that's why I keep returning to this site. ChartCharts motivate me as well.

So, I'm here to lose a bit of weight and definitely tone up. You'll have at least one person to discuss your progress with!
I hope to become a part of this forum.

goldy- In my case, I was born with a slight heart defect. It has never slowed me down in the least and most people don't even know I have it, as long as I take my medication. For me, it's a prescription that regulates my blood pressure.

I should also add that it's not only weight loss that can throw your prescriptions off but also a sudden change in diet. Eating a diet very high in fiber and grains can also decrease blood pressure, usually a good thing. In my case, it dropped a little too far.

I had "a perfect storm". I was overly tired from working hard the day before, I had lost a lot of weight, that time of the month, and was unknowingly, over-medicated.

Default Me too

Although it sounds like I weigh much more than all of you...I am 146 15 pounds is all I want to loose.....I workout daily but get down to 142 and then get stuck and end up putting it back on.
I hope with the motivation of keeping track of my food and this forum I can break the barrier and get down to 135. I would be deliriously happy!!!

Default Thanks for the heads-up, Quinn!

Funny how I always think to tell the pediatrician when my son has gone through a growth spurt (not that they don't weigh him when he goes, but...), yet never think to tell my doctor when my weight changes. I am on a maintenance medication for vertigo and have been on the same dose for 8 years...I have a neuro appt. in two weeks and will mention it.

Hope you are feeling better, Quinn; get some rest this weekend and take a break from the bathroom remodel!

quinn ~ very important to remeber thanks for bringing it to our attention. glad you are starting to feel better.

goldylegs ~ you don't weigh a lot more than all of us. The last time I weighed I was at 142.8 lbs. I think i'm going to adjust my goal to 140 lbs. So my final goal will be where Quinn started off at...lol....BUT keep in mind I'm 5'9". so it's all realative. if i were to weigh what Quinn weighs now I'd be UNDER what is considered a healthy weight for my height. so don't worry where your weight is compared to anyone else. what's important is it a healthy weight for you. is it something you can maintain. is it a weight you are comfortable with.

quinn~ I hope you are feeling better soon. That sounds like it was a little scary! Take care of yourself

goldylegs~ Welcome to the group! You definitely don't weigh more than all of us. I started out at 155 and am down to 148 now. Good luck on your goals, this is a great group to keep you motivated!

ruby~Great job!! Keep it up!

stacey~ Enjoy the massage and dbf's bday!

Doing good today! Went to Taco Bell and tried their new Shrimp taco (for Lent) it was really good and only 180 calories! It's a good feeling to know I was able to drive through there and not order what I would normally do. I don't really even miss it

Best wishes for all of you this weekend! Weigh in's on Tuesday...can't wait to see the fruits of my labor

Hey all - been a while but I am still kickin!

Quinn - how scary! so glad you are OK and thanks for the warning, wounldn't have ever occured to me other wise.

I need a little help here: I'm getting into the longer runs on my marathon training and still trying to cross train during the week AND still trying to get my weight down a bit. Lost energy last week so decided to attempt maintenance and GAINED four pounds back as a result!

So the question is, how do I stay within my calorie limits but still have loads of energy?
