Default vacation pounds

Hi Kim,
Lots of us agree that vacation pounds are the easiest to lose if you get right back to your good habits and normal routine. I just got back for a 2 week train trip up the west coast and am certain I picked up several pounds. But I'm not too worried. A couple of weeks back to running and crossfit as well as moderating the alcohol and carb consumption, and I'll be back to where I started.

And so will you!

Hello - I'm a newbie. Want to lose 10lbs and am starting today. Have a long history of dieting and sooo want this to be the last one. I've been reading Becks book about thinking thin which really has helped already. Am planning to calorie count as I always seem to rebel against official eating plans - I did the dukan diet last year (am in the UK and it's v popular here) but even though I got to my goal of 133 lbs I hated the protein only days and have gradually put on 10lbs. I will try to post regularly but am a teacher and mum of 2 and term starts next week!

Hi Jj, welcome. You sound like a busy lady but you can do this. You can most definitely count calories without subscribing to a formal eating plan. Just keep i mind that if it's something you can't sustain, you'll bail out on it. Make it something that works for you and your chances of success are much better. Good luck to you!

I think it's time for me to join this club! I have about 10 pounds I'd like to lose, but putting weight aside, I'd rather get in shape Classic case of skinny (/average) fat. I started low weights recently and doing squats and such (2-3 times a week) for about 3 weeks. I know it takes time to tone and build muscle and I'm not expecting overnight results buuut I am hoping to see some muscle definition at some point in the not so distant future. How long do you reckon it takes to see some abs forming, or is that just a matter of losing that extra layer or two (or three) of fat?

Default Back on fitday

Hi ladies,

so good to see that so many of you are still around and also great to read so many new names!

So much has changed since I last checked in... Back in July I was trying to write my dissertation and at the same time work as a newspaper reporter. I finally gave in to the unnerving feeling that I really couldn't do both. I was stuck in a place I didn't feel comfortable anymore. So I started to apply for jobs... Back in October I finally started working as a city hall spokesperson in a new town. I moved down South (about 320 kms) and now live fairly close to the Alps, which is awesome!! I left friends and family behind, but live fairly close to my boyfriend again, who swapped jobs as well.

The downside is, that I stopped using fitday and the forums about half a year ago and went up to my original starting weight (which was quite inevitable, I suppose, since I totally lost track on my eating and exercise habits). As a new year begins, I wanna start using fitrday once again.

I hope, all of you wonderful ladies will help me along this path once again.

It's good to be back!

Molly

Default runawayspoon

Greetings! I've been using fitday to track my weight loss (again) since Christmas....but haven't used the forum. I lost about 6 lbs and then nothing, even though I felt starving all the time and counted calories endlessly. I want to tell y'all that I discovered an incredible weight loss and healthy diet called The Ultra Simple Diet by Mark Hyman. You start with a week of detox, letting go of everything that you might have allergies to, and then start adding them back one at a time. Or you can just continue with the detox diet while you are losing weight. All whole foods, no sugar, white flour, eggs, dairy, cheese, coffee or alcohol. Lots of protein and vegetables and rice, and at first, protein shakes and vegetable broth. You add vit. C and green tea and probiotics...I feel like a kid again and I am 66, and I lost 6 lbs the first week and am losing about 2 a week now and keeping it off. and I am not hungry. I wanted to share this with you, if you'd like to give it a try, let me know how it goes! I really like the 5-15 lb club...it's helped me a lot in the past. Grandma Sharon from Santa Cruz
