Yeah, the scale is staying the same. I MAY have lost about half an inch at the smallest part of my waist and belly button area, but I could have been standing just right, too. Hips are the same. Glad I'm not gaining, but jeesh I haven't had any of the ice cream I bought for my kids (summer break food). Makes me want to just have a bowl. I will think about it.

My soy protein is almost gone, so I bought whey protein. For about 5 days, I have been making sure I have extra protein, not good about eating it naturally, apparently. Hoping that helps. Not totally craving anything, so that is good. Crazy that I don't want that ice cream that bad. I make the kids wait until I leave for kung fu to eat it, so I don't get tempted then.

Sad that I went to kung fu, yesterday, and I woosed out cuz their air conditioning broke. I just sat and visited with them, which was fun in itself. It was in the 90s to 100's in there, sweating just sitting there. There was just NO way I wanted to work out THAT bad. The hard core kung fu guys were plugging away. I was really scared that they might get heat exhaustion.

Have a great week everyone. I am so proud of those of you who are losing.

oh come on food porn is like this:

She stared at the moist, dark chocolatey cake on her plate, longingly. Finally, what she had been craving all day. One bite and it melted in her mouth. So good, ......

ROFL, Michelle!!

Do you think your body has become so accustomed to the Kung Fu that it is not as much of a calorie burn for you as it used to be, even if it feels like, and is, a great workout? Maybe that's contributing to the slow progress (but hey, half an inch is half an inch...who wouldn't take that!).

I know when I started cardio tennis my heart rate monitor said it burned about 400 calories; these days I've gotten so used to it that it's more like 300. Which sucks.

I wish you hadn't mentioned ice cream.

Beth, hope you enjoyed your treat. I'm sure you've already made up for it .

Yeah, I don't know. I'm playing w/ the increased protein idea. Trying to stick that out for about two weeks. I did slip up on Sunday and hit 1944 calories, but the rest of the days were 1300 - 1250. I would think that it would have balanced out. I didn't go yesterday nor today. Their air conditioning broke, ugh. Anyway, I did a workout video on Netflix streaming today for about 45 minutes, Trainer's edge abs (lots of boxing and jump rope) which is a little different, no kicking, lots of ab work on the floor, too. I really don't want to have to start running to kick start the weight loss. I hate running.

CJ from 400 to 300!!! That really does suck. It certainly could be that I have gotten used to it.

Hi everyone!
Okay, this is my first official check in, and I'm already off schedule! I was out of town to help some friends move and was cut off from my internet on Tuesday, so I wasn't able to post anything. But I did manage to weigh myself that day, and was down to 144, so that's a 2 lb. drop.

Unfortunately, I'm going to have to work hard, if I want to lose any more weight for this coming Tuesday-- I spent the last three days going to graduation parties and eating out. And although I was able to abstain from the booze, ice cream definitely got the better of me! (Haha, it seems like ice cream is a theme in this thread!). Hope you all are doing better than me!

Also, this is really ditzy of me, but if anyone has some spare time, would you mind telling me how to do that signature thing where it has your starting weight/current weight/weight goal thing at the end of the post? I can't figure out where to plug that in... Thank you (and sorry for the trouble!)

hi tayk88,
look on the left, in the lower level heading section and find "User CP."

There is the place to mess around with the signature Look on the left for "edit signature."

Hope that helps. Congrats on your 2 lb loss and abstaining from booze! I'd write more but I've got an early morning coming so I"m off, bye!

tayk88, I swear by lowfat frozen yogurt and light ice cream...I don't think I've had "high test" in 15 years, though I eat the lighter stuff 3-4 times a week whenever I have sweet cravings. They come in a ton of flavors and are anywhere from 100-140 calories a half-cup serving, and much lower in fat.

Parties and eating out are hard. Sounds like you found a pretty good split-the-difference approach .

Julia, have a great day tomorow. Hate those early ones!
