The problem you face when trying to lose weight is your “resistance” or “insensitivity” to Leptin’s signal to burn fat which is basically like having your body’s fat burning switch set to OFF.

Aanother problem you face is the rapid drop in your leptin levels when you diet which slows down your metabolism substantially and leads to frustrating weight loss plateaus and massive rebound weight gain.

Not Fun!

here is a solution to turn the tables on your genetics by reseting the way your body utilizes letpin to permanently turn your fat burning switch all the way on.

Fit to fat to fat to fit.

Weightloss at an all time low with little to no workouts. Everything is spiratic and the weather is crazy. I am a mess in getting this tight and right.
Please I am hoping to get a long time success very soon.

My genetics are good. No one in my family is overweight except for gluttony and pathetic habits. I am falling in to that class in an attempt to avoid it. If that makes sense to you.

Good afternoon all,

This is my first time using Fitday and I have to say my first time really getting serious about my needs in general and weight loss. I started this journey on 1.1.14 at 235.4 pounds and as of today I weight 226.2. My long term goal is to be between 136 - 169 pounds by 1.1.15.

Hi NewerBetty, glad you have joined us. If you are looking for some chat and companionship, check out the Motivational Thread for the week in the Motivational section.

Welcome NewerBetty :) My advice to you (if you want it that is ;) ) is to set small monthly goals for the coming year. From personal experience, when I focus too much on the end long term goal, I feel frustrated. This time around, I've set short term monthly goals to focus and it's really helped me! Like Cassie said, come and join us in the Motivational Forum! It can be very helpful to have people to check in with while on this journey.

Thanks everyone for the support and tips. I don't get on line much, I'm at the mid point of an MBA program and I have a 11 month old at home. So my goal is to get here at least once a week. I have found that my barriers to weight loss are my age, having children later in life (son 31, son 24, daughter 11 mos) and type II diabetic.

Starting Weight - 235.4 (1/1/14)
Current Weight - 225.8 (1/28/14)

Good morning all,

I just weighted in and I have not lost anything this week. But, on the bright side I didn't gain any either. I have increased my workouts to 60 mins per day and my goal this month is to lose 4-8 pounds.

Height 5'9"
Starting Weight - 235.8 (1/1/14)
Current Weight - 225.8 (2/4/14)
Goal Weight Range 136-169 (1/15/15)

Hi Betty I read somewhere that the first step in taking control of your diet was to stop the gaining. I find that when I go for a week without losing I often lose more than expected the next week. Keep up the good work.

Good morning all,

Sorry, I’m 3 days over due for posting, but we have dealing with snow and ice:eek:. I’ve gained 3.2 pounds since my last weight-in, but I have promised myself that I would not get crazy about it. I know, I’m building muscle and it weights more than fat or so I’m going to keep telling myself that.

Height - 5’9’’
Starting Weight – 235.4 (1/1/14)
Current Weight – 230 (2/14/14)
Goal Weight Range 169 -136 (1/1/15)

Help

I need to lose 100 pounds and need others to help keep me accountable.

CSmith2048 09-15-2014 12:15 PM

To avoid creating a new thread of the same topic, I'm going to resurrect this one. :)

I have used Fitday.com off and on for several years and never really stuck with it. I'm determined to stick with it this time. I also have 100+ lbs to lose and am taking it a little bit at a time. Not doing anything specific, just trying to watch my caloric intake and do some form of exercise at least 5-6 times a week.

Anyone else have 100+ lbs to lose?

Christy

If I can lose five pounds and keep it off - never gain it back - that is a huge victory! And what is 100 pounds but 5 pounds multiplied!

(My favorite quote from Weight Watchers is: 'All dieting is maintenance...')

JediMindTricks 09-17-2014 08:52 PM

Hi, Christy. I have more than 100 to lose too. I have got off track a couple times, but I'm here again ready to continue to lose. I don't do anything drastic either. I just count my calories. I had been exercising but I put my back out pretty severely and I've got a fear of re-injuring it so I haven't been doing it for a while.

I've got much more that 100 pounds to lose! When I start, I weighed 358. At only 5 ft 2 inches, I was a real 'butterball'! That was back in May of this year. In June I started cutting back on my food. As of the first of August, I got serious after my MD told me that what and how I was eating was working against the meds I take for asthma. By following his guidelines, I am down to 316 pounds as of a week ago! I'm thrilled--I feel much better--mobility is still an issue with arthritis but I feel stronger every day. My goal is to get to 170--I know that's still above what would be considered 'normal' but it's much less that where I started! Vicki

Wow! That must feel great!

RosieRags 10-07-2014 08:21 PM

Hi Rosabella! I too have more than 100 lbs to lose. I began September 2nd to lose weight and lower my blood sugar and A1c. So far I have lost 26 lbs and my A1c has dropped from 7.7 to 6.7. My hope is to reach 180 lbs in a year, right now I am 314 and 5'8! I am also trying to improve my Cholesterol to avoid taking statin medications. I go back at Christmas to see if my low carb (40g), 1575 Calorie diet will produce the results I am trying to achieve. Power to succeed to us all.
