Default Artificial sweeteners/Sugar free...

I just can't use them. I am so thankful that I'm not diabetic and don't have to, because they make me want to vomit.

Is there anyone else out there like this? What are some tips on dieting without them? No matter what people say about "not tasting the difference" I can taste the difference...always.

I can totally taste the difference!! Sweet 'N Low is bitter and awful tasting! I still use sugar...I know it's not good for you - but I can't handle the other stuff. I usually just cut the portion size down!

Have you considered maple sugar? I use it sometimes when I need sweetener. It has a better glycemic index than white sugar, and doesn't give you quite the same sugar drop afterwards.

So like brown sugar?

I do try to use raw sugar or honey in very limited amounts, and if I use white sugar, tiny, tiny amounts. I also have used molasses in some circumstances, and maple syrup (real) in some situations. Sometimes I just have to have a sugar hit and the artificial stuff is just so awful tasting.
