Talking Saying Hello.

Howdy folks.
Stumbled upon fitday.com while surfing the net and decided Aug 9 2010 to give it a try.
I'm at 257 lb. and ideally should be 160 for my height.
It's quite shocking to see how many calories I was actually consuming .Tracking
your consumption is a real eye opener!
Good luck to everyone ,and we'll be seeing you in the forum.I'm sure I'll have a lot of questions and hopefully a few answers.
Cheers,
Ken

Day # 3.
Down 6 pounds.Very happy about the loss but having read other posts I know that an initial quick loss is common ,so I will keep it in perspective.
If it's possible I seem to feel better already.

A big initial loss is common, but its still a loss. Don't get too far ahead of your goal weight graph though, the closer you are to the line the healthier this process is.

Exercise definitely will make you feel better, and losing weight can reduce joint pain/stress drastically. Losing 1 pound means a 4 pound reduction in the load placed on the knee with each step, in one mile that is 4,800 pounds!

I found a Forum here yesterday where guys are trying to lose 10% of fat by Thanksgiving. See if you can find that in the Forum section. Good luck, Jim
Greetings,
This site is incredible .Some very good tips and information. It's comforting to know that we are not alone in our challenges to alter our lifestyles for the better. "One day at at time"
When you think about it take care of each individual day and the weeks & months will take care of themselves.

Thanks Heytred,
I'm in a good headspace about this, looking at it as basic chemistry.
Calories in verses calories out.Obviously exercise adds fuel to the burning process, and calorie make up plays an important role as well.
Need to remain focused and motivated one day at a time.(Cliched I know ,but so true).
Stay well...
