It might be a bit too much to lose considering how late I'm starting but I'll give it a try. I've already been losing weight the past 2 months, and have actually already lost about 10%. I guess I'll "cheat" a little bit and start it this past monday

Ol' reliable (my packaging scale, bought years ago before reasonably priced high capacity digital scales were commonly available) nicely read 343.0 lbs. this morning.

So, 347.0 - 4.0 = 5.5 lbs left to go for the challenge. Looks like I'll have to up my goal to 15% as I'm ahead of schedule.

Up 1.5 lbs from last week.Hard time getting below 240 for some reason.

Start Weight=245 pounds (July 6,2010)
Weight=228.5 pounds (Sept 20/2010)
10% Challenge goal=220.5 pounds (24.5) (Dec 25, 2010)

Spoke too soon last week on how fast the weight was coming off, losing only half a pound this week. That said, I'm only targeting a pound a week to be sure it stays off, and I'm still on track, and actually looking to hit target weight by Thanksgiving. Fell off this week a wee bit on saturated fats, and a couple protein-filled higher caloric days, but not too bad. Real goal is to reduce tricglycerides and low HDL, and the weight loss and extra walking is helping, I'm sure. Will get those tests in December. Looking to surprise my doc with the results! __________________

Current weight: 228.5 (As of Sept 20,2010)

I hit a wall---my weight has not moved in the last two weeks---
working out as usual and trying to limit calories to less than 2000.
I have been eating out often----no control .
I have to refocus on the type of food I eat.

Hi guys,

First post - not sure if this is going to look right. How do I get a sig line with all the stats like some of you?

I came across the challenge and thought I'd join a little late. On August 27, I was 198 lbs so 19.8 to lose. Today I was 194.4 which is a bummer because it is about 1.5 higher than mid week. I keep losing and gaining the same 5 pounds (but about a year ago I hit an all time high of around 213 so I'm keeping this all in perspective). I am going on a 4 day cruise at the week's end so won't be checking in next Monday but I'll maybe check in the day after the cruise. I'll try to be good but not promising anything. I also have some food allergies or sensitivities which give me some challenges.

339.0 this morning so another 4.0lbs down. 5.5 lbs - 4.0 = 1.5 lbs to go for the challenge! Keep up the good work everyone!

PS Am now walking during my lunch period--did 10 minutes at a brisk pace (and four flights of stairs--two up and two down) every day last week. Will see how it goes and plan on upping it to 20 min. as my body adapts.

Hit a PLATEAU........ Can't seem to drop below 240.My calorie intake and activity level should warrant a weight loss.
Been at 240.2 to 243 for the last 2 weeks.

One more pound gone, which is consistent with my strategy, to lose a pound a week. Feeling good, eating a lot more fish, fruit and veggies, saturated fat below 20g on average and cholesterol below 300g daily, keeping the daily intake to about 2200-2300 cal, supplementing with a daily vitamin pill and fish oil tablets
Need to start watching sugar though...unfortunately free Fitday log doesn't track it...but should.

Aiming for 10k steps a day too.
