Fit, Forty...something, and Fabulous.....
I think I will start my journal thread under the the success stories section of this Forum. I have been on this diet journey since 2008 and have had some successes and failures. I continue to have my ups and downs, but see myself as a success story as long as I keep trying my best. I will post highlights of my day here along with a link to my body blog that has the details of the day at hand.

One of them days....Agh!!!!
I am having one of those days that we all have now and then. I am pretty blah today. One thing that helps me feel better is exercise. As much as I hate to pull myself off the couch, when I do I feel so much better. Today was suppose to be my rest day...no gym. I train quite heavy...with weights 4 times a week and I do cardio 2 days a week for 30 minutes on my non lifting days. But, tonite I am going to do some cardio because I am feeling mentally stressed from some personal family challenges. Exercise is great for endorphin release!! So off to the gym I go;)

I recognize the FitDay graphs. Have you been using FD for long? Are you using it for maintaining right now, or are you looking to drop some pounds?

Flab to Fab 2011: 2011 Olympia Weekend!! |
The weekend!
|
Well, the Olympia is right around the corner and I am up a few pounds. I took a diet break all this week and the next and have been having too much fun. I got on the scales and was up to 140...yikes. What the heck...lol. So today I have been good as gold and I plan to be for the next week because I refuse to be walking around the expo or the Olympia shows looking "thick".
I am off UD2 for a few weeks, but I better watch may calories a bit more and keep my protein up;). I am staying at a hotel off the strip that has a fitness center. It has all the dumbells I need and a bench. That is really all I need to keep my training going through the week in Vegas. I plan to train Monday and Tuesday, off Wednesday and maybe Thursday (I will be visiting a friend in Utah those days) and then I plan to train on Friday. Off Saturday and Sunday...then back to my UD2 diet on Monday. Flab to Fab 2011 |
The Fedex Guy
I always find a person that I just seem to connect with out in cyberland. I am sure I will connect with someone here as I continue to participate on this forum. I would like to share a special connection that I have made since January of this year.

I have been following your blog.. Just a suggestion for eating when traveling (which I used to do alot). Even when McDonalds is your best option try one of the grilled chicken salads. These allow you to eat healthier (alot better than 500kcal of french fries), and you can get one of the low-cal dressings. The regular dressing almost doubles the kcals of the salad and chicken alone.

You have made great progress too! |
I had a blast in Vegas. I just took the time to write about my experience!! My diet sucked in Vegas and I am only 9 weeks out from my contest. Oh well...time to nail things down hard and I do have a plan to do just that! I think I can hit my goal in 9 weeks of no cheating and alot of hard training.
The Olympia was great!! I had a super fun time. What made me feel the best is that everywhere I went people asked me if I compete. So, I must be doing something right and am moving in the right direction at least. The funniest thing happened as I was at a booth looking at some contest suits. This asian lady asked me if I was planning to do figure or bikini as I was looking at the beautiful lime green sequined suit...it was a smaller suit. She said, that one might fit...then she looked at my butt and said...oh no it won't. You have a big butt!! Wow...that was humbling lol....gotta love her for tellin it like it is. She makes dozens of suit and she knows what a figure body should look like. She then asked me how many pounds am I planning to lose. I told her 12-15 pounds. She smiled and then stated that it should fit me good then and left me her card.....LOL Flab to Fab 2011: Overview of my Vegas trip |
Change of plans. I have found my coach and he feels I am not ready to compete this year.

Sorry to hear you will not be competing this year. However, it sounds like you have a better plan. I'm sure you will be fabulous when you do compete.

I too am from Ohio what part are you?
DH and I love Vegas and we are not big gamblers but love to go. That is the worst place for me to eat healthy as we get free buffets and just one of those on a trip would do you in. But then we do alot of walking as we don't rent a car. You keep blogging I love reading them. Stay focused and you can do it.:) |

Just read your post about Scott. He seems like an awesome dude. I feel his pain with the back issue as I'm going through the same thing. I'm slowly getting back into doing squats and deadlifts but the weight is about 1/2 of what it was before my injury. I just had my 3rd epidural and for the most part I feel decent but I can still tell there is something wrong. Not being able to do what I love to do, how I want to do it is a to pill to swallow.
