Hope, the question is then WHY are you binging? Emotional eating? Hunger? A craving? Angry at the world? Not that I want or need to know I just think that it needs to be examined so that you can come up with a strategy. There are so many theories about binging but I believe strongly that everyone is different.

Yes, Epixi, TKD is Tae Kwon Do. I have been teaching it for 9 years and this is my last year, I am done in June. I never planned to teach it and I am not particularly talented but our teacher abandoned us 9 years ago so I have been teaching it ever since. I am not alone. There's another lady that teaches with me and her son is our technical expert. We have produced very good students, a lot of girls. They do well at regional competitions. I think it's because we are good teachers. The reason I am retiring is the time that it takes away from other things that I want to do. I have given up a lot of conferences etc (work) for TKD. Next weekend will be my last also taking care of registration for a tournament that is a fundraiser for Easter Seals. Again I have missed out on things in order to do this year after year. So this is the last year of tournament competition for our school.

I think the physillium works very well. It's a natural fiber so I feel good about using it.

It wasn't you. It was the co-worker who convinced me to go to the 'wholesome food kitchen' for lunch, and peer pressure that led to my corruption! I have to admit their cookies were good, though. Turned out to be 1400+ calories of 'wholesome' lunch.

April, thanks for sharing your "backstory". What a blessing to have such a loving and supportive family. I know it's good to have goals that aren't too easy - and it feels so much better to meet a goal that we had to work a bit for. You sound like you lead such a busy life with your work & family (and dogs) that I wondered if you simply don't have time to do all you have on your goal list.

Donna - you have to watch who you hang out with!

Robin - You are so multi-talented with your yoga and TKD - and teaching awards! Hope your son had a good birthday - I'm sure he did with that cheesecake. I love cheesecake. America's Test Kitchen has a great recipe for lemon cheesecake - the crust is made from animal crackers - that I've made several times. When my middle son got married, he and his now-wife asked me to make the cake. I agreed. Then they decided on 3 different mini cheesecakes a person. That was fine. Then they wanted a tiered wedding cheesecake. OMG - I'd never do that again. It came out well in the end, but it was like making a tiered cake out of jello, and the frosting wasn't sticking - and the caterer asked for the recipe (it was from the Wilton website).

epi - Great job on the numbers. And good for you for resisting temptation last night.

1. Calories under 1300: 1286, 1269, 702 (too low, I know, it just worked out that way), 1055, 1101
2. An hour extra movement a day: N , N, Y, Y,Y
3. No sugar, white flour: N (ate 4 potstickers), N (6 pretzels), Y, Y,Y
4. Small bites and put fork down between bites.- getting better at stretching snacks and meals out

That's so cool, a wedding cheesecake! I guess it's a one off though but sounds very fun.

Well I managed to get through this day with one slice only (1/16), all 380 cals......in fact cals for the day are 1443. Thanks fitday it would not have worked out that way if I wasn't logging and posting it.

Epixi, my birthday was truly fabulous, thanks for asking!!! Metamucil is pysillum but the natural stuff I think is better.

Natural foods can add up to a high calorie lunch that's for sure.

Robin, you are right. I think I know why I am eating; it's a combo of things and I am trying to overcome it. Hard habit to break but I just have to keep reminding myself how lousy I feel afterwards - physically. I like eating less. But it's easy to get into a pattern of overindulgence.

Birthday cheescake -coool!! Tiered wedding cheesecake, holy cow, my hat's off to you. I happen to make a fabulous cheeseecake but I can even imagine how hard it would be to do a tiered cake. Really great idea tho.And obviously it came out great if the caterer wanted the recipe!

Happy Belated Birthday Hope.
Good job on calories Robin!

Weighed myself this morning and I am up a pound. Not surprising since I have eaten too many carbs this week and not enough water! I know I was emotional eating due to stress. A fresh start tomorrow.

Well, I've had a good week calorie and exercise-wise, but no weight loss. Sigh. I'm only a little discouraged though. I've lost a little more inch-wise. And I'm proud of myself for mostly sticking to my goals. Maybe there's no loss because I'm increasing muscle mass, but I WOULD like to see that scale move down, even a little.
