Late starting again! Yikes!!

1) Good fluids (green tea / water / matcha tea) 2.5-3L a day- Monday, Tues, Wednesday,
2) Keep calories on target (aproximately 500-700ccal defecit a day)- Monday, Tuesday
3) Structure more paleo centered dinners for dinner (generally my roomate makes myself and my husband dinner - lots of uncontrollable factors at times)
4) Gym 3x during the work week - Monday
5) Give myself 30 minutes of personal time a night to try and wind down from the day

All in all I am happy with my progress so far The family decided to plan a house boating trip in July so hopefully I can get more comfortable with myself between now and then with routine and weight loss.

When I look at this thread
It makes me frown
Today is just Wednesday
And it looks like a ghost town
Today is the day
We should do some braggin'
Instead, I suspect
Some have fallen from the wagon
If you have fallen
You must have no fear
Pick yourself up
And get your ass in gear

I'm starting to like this poetry thing. I may not be the best but it's a pretty good way to express yourself.

Sundays Dream

I woke up from my dream
I could barely talk
For in my dream
Johnny could walk

That day was Easter
He didn't get to dye eggs
Because he lays in the hospital
Still no use of his legs

I remember the day
That I heard he'd been shot
That was the day
My stomach was one big knot

I sat there thinking
It can't be the word
It seems like just yesterday
It was February 23rd

There's not much I can do
But support my dear friend
I pray for the day
That he will reach full mend

So it's been 6 weeks
He's been very brave
I stuck to my word
When I vowed not to shave

As a show of my support
I have this thick beard
Some think it's cute
While others think I'm weird

Get well soon dear Johnny
And always stay strong
For that person will pay
The one that did you wrong!

Agreed!

I'm just motoring along here with my goals. Didn't walk yesterday it was too cold again. But 6k so far this week. Baby steps on the pounds loss but sticking it out anyway.

Bear with me, folks, as I figure out how I want to format my posts here .

Goals for the week:
  • Log everything, no exceptions: yes, yes, yes
  • At least 1500ml water per day: yes, yes, yes
  • Maintain 4-week 1500-1600 calorie average: 1603, 1592, 1589
  • Maintain 4-week 1500mg (or less) sodium average: 1324, 1317, 1355
  • Study every day: yes, yes, yes

I really like the 4-week average information. I think that's a far better indicator of how I'm doing than to look at any one specific day. It helps me focus on the fact that this is a process; a one-day blip isn't a disaster. A 4-week blip, on the other hand...

Keep up the good work, everyone!

Mike, it is a touching poem. I will continue say prayers for Johnny, his family and you guys.
As for the beard, I think it looks great. Your face is definitely thinner. How does GF like it? How is GF? And the kids? And the pups?

Epixi, I like the 4 week idea and I love the attitude. You have to look at goals long term, not just the "blips," as you say.

Robin, 6k rocks. It's cold here too. Doesn'[t make me want to get out there tho today is supposed to be nicer, in the 50s, toasty...

Mike: Great poem!

Mine for today is a haiku on a recurring theme in my posts.

April's pouring rain
Brings lettuce to my garden.
Eat more vegetables!
