So, let me see if I can make this a short story.

Several years ago, after getting divorced, I was at my highest weight ever (250 lbs). I was disgusted with myself and decided to try the Atkins diet. I was diligent and lost 80 lbs in 6 months.

I was so excited about my progress that, to celebrate, I started eating crap again (potato chips, cake, cookies, etc.) thinking, I've been doing such a great job, I deserve to "reward" myself.

Well, guess what? Over the years, I went up and down, gained and lost, eventually getting back up to 235 lbs and on the verge of diabetes.

After turning 40 this past year and having a recent surgery, I decided it's time to make a permanent change. I quit smoking first and now that I'm completely over that hump, I'm going to tackle my weight and overall health.

So here I am. I chose the Atkins WOE because it works best for me as far as regulating my blood glucose levels.

I'm in this for the long haul. I have 100 lbs to lose and need to revamp my way of eating for life, not just for a "diet."

I started Atkins on January 3rd and have been keeping track of my food in FitDay.

So far I'm down 10 lbs - the initial flush - and looking forward to moving through the phases and hitting the 100 lbs lost mark by the end of the year.

Female, 5'3", 225 lbs.

Sounds like you have been down this path before and know what to do! Get on it!!

Jump in any threads you want. It seems to me the more I talk with the folks here the more supported I feel and that goes a long way in this journey.
