Default Chewy granola bars

I keep a box of the chewy granola bars in my car. They are about 100 calories and individually wrapped so I don't tend to overeat.

The last couple of days, I have had that tired/hungry feeling that I know can lead me to binging on bad stuff. I made a snack of 1 oz. peanuts and 1/2 serving of dried cranberries (I think it adds up to about 230 calories). That has enough salt, sweetness and fat that it kept me from raiding my husband's peanut M&M stash. You could make up bags of that using raisins or other dried fruit instead of the cranberries and keep in your car or purse or office.

Thanks for all of those great ideas. Elsewhere, someone suggested hardboiled eggs that I can keep in the fridge at work. I love, love, love nuts and have been known to eat a huge amount of non-salted raw almonds so I have to stay away from those except for my one ounce serving I can add to my lunch.

I will have to check out those recipes, they sound delicious. My DD is allergic to wheat/barley/rye, sesame, peanut and tree nut so I'm used to special foods. I'm glad it is helping your son with ADHD.
