Default 8 down, 17 to go!

I've been on FitDay for a while now, but only an active user for about a month now. I write down everything I eat, and it's been a great help.

I started at 160 pounds. I'm now 152. My goal is 135 by September. I've lost the first 8 pounds already! It's a lofty goal—only once in my life was I that light, and then only for a brief period of time.

I think I've got the eating down, but I need some motivation to keep eating right and to start working out! As a former athlete, I'd like to get back some of my fitness from when I was in top shape.

Anybody in the same boat?

Congrats on the 8 lbs so far!!! Keep up the good work!

How long has it been since you were working out/in shape? Just keep in mind when you start working out again, that's the hardest part - starting! Your body will probably protest in a thousand different (possibly painful) ways, but don't let that discourage you! Stick with it and your inner athlete will come out again. Best of luck!

It's only been about a year since I last worked out seriously, but I was very close to overweight even when I was working out. I have hopes of going back to the sport as a lightweight this coming year, which is motivating both the 135 pound goal (ultimately I'll need to be 130 pounds) and the need to get back in shape.

Thank you for the good wishes! I've tried a number of times to lose weight in the past year and this is the first time I've actually stuck with it for more than a week. I'm very excited for the progress!

You are doing great and I would think 17 pounds is doable by September. Remember as you get back your muscle tone muscle weighs more. Have you taken your measurements lately; that is a good indicator when the scale doesn't move that you are still loosing.

I started eating carbs and having trouble weaning myself off them. M&M's are my drug of choice-they are so easy to grab and eat. My main goal is to cut most of the sugars out of my life.

I would like to loose 10 pounds by mid July '10. If i can get any of it off I will feel victorous. I started excersing more; I walk and have gone back to recording my daily food intake starting today. At least I have accountability now.
