Baby Boy has been born! Postpartum period begins!
Hi everyone! Our baby son was born on Valentine's Day at 38 weeks! 8 lb 6 oz!
Every day I'm feeling stronger but I'm still mostly taking is super easy, sort of on couch/bed rest until my lochia stops. I "lost" almost 20 pounds (12-13 on delivery day, then 6-7 more from fluid and blood loss) and so now I'm about at my baseline, about 7 pounds above pre-pregnancy weight.
More than just weight, I'm not thrilled about my skin and lack of muscle tone and lovely cushiony "maternal stores" covering everything, but I figure in a month or so I can build up to working out and building muscle.
I'm also breast feeding which they say burns calories, but when I BF my first child I didn't lose weight until I weaned, maybe b/c I was overeating or maybe b/c my boobs were so big I didn't want to do cardio, or maybe b/c the lactating hormones made me retain my nice cushion of "maternal stores."
For now I'm going to try to eat healthy and rest, and not GAIN any weight from overeating!

If it's small enough, you can click the "manage attachments" button when you post. You can upload it to a site like photobucket and post the link. If you can't figure it out you can email it to me and I'll post it. If you email it to me, give me his name, DOB and length and weight and I'll make a little something for you.
