Just catching up with posts from the old thread and read that school is starting for some of you today. Hope everything goes smoothly! Most moms will tell you that they only have to look at their kids face for a second to know exactly how the first day went... lol. I wonder if kids ever realize that it's just as stressful for us as it is for them??

I'm actually quite envious! Our classes don't start until September 6th, so I've got a while to wait until our home gets back on schedule... ugh.

Trying to be strict this week on the diet... I have just been bouncing up and down and it's annoying me. I am hoping to loss a pound by the beginning of next week, so I started some exercises... crunches and some yoga stomach exercise my friend taught me. Might get a bike eventually, so the boyfriend and I can do something else together. If I can at least get a second job, I can get a gym membership and start going to the gym.

1. Keep calories below 1400
2. Drink 8 to 12 cups of water daily
3. Take vitamins, calcium, and fiber
4. Exercise 3 to 5 times a week, 2 to 3 times each day
5. Go out for walks 3 to 4 times a week
6. Log everything!
7. Take a picture of weight loss
8. Post on my weight loss blog two times this week with picture
9. Go out to eat only twice this week

Other goals
1. Apply to jobs fast
2. Get a new job
3. Once get new job, join a gym
4. Start apartment hunting, hopefully
5. Post a new article in hubpages

This weekend was filled with lots of exercise and maybe a touch too much eating. Saturday I made a beef roast with carrots & onions, mashed potatoes & homemade beef gravy. Also made from scratch shortcake cupcakes & buttercream icing. OMG! Then Sunday I picked green bell peppers from the garden and stuffed them for dinner. I was a very good girl during the days because I knew I had these dinners coming and the cupcakes too. And it all worked out! I ended the week with a deficit of 4775!! That added up to a 2.2lb loss since 8.4.11 was the last time I recorded my yo-yo number. I watched the scale very steadily go down so I was fairly certain it wasn't playing a mind game with me!! This puts me at exactly 45 lbs on my loss so far since February. *happy dance*!! I know that I need to stay on it while I have this loss going, I am going to keep it going as much as I can.

Set my alarm to get up early today to exercise but ended up staying in bed with my hubby since it's his day off. No walk today at lunch either cuz it's raining. That is okay. Monday & Tuesday are low exercise days for me anyway. I may try to get in a half hour this evening if I am not in high demand LOL.

I think I am going to keep my goals from last week and maybe add a few new ones so here goes...

Health/Fitness
1. log, Log, LOG!
2. 500 calorie deficit daily
3. 80oz water daily
4. only one diet soda daily
5. 45 min exercise 3 days week

Personal
1. Catch up office paperwork & filing
2. File paperwork at home
3. Clean car windows & vacuum carpets
4. Weed flower & veggie gardens

Quinn...now that the drywalling is over I bet you are happy that it is done though. I always dread a big project but am so happy when it's behind me.

Cassie...How was the first day of school? Mine have two weeks to go of being vegetables until school starts and they have to use their brains again!

Just partially catching up with the posts. Plumber has been here for 2 1/2 hours replacing the laundry tub plumbing--having to go through the wall and into the crawlspace under the house. He's not finished yet. I'm just dreading finding out how much the bill will be!

Cassie, your son surely did have mature taste buds for a ten month old. LOL I've never had a Nutrigrain bar, but I agree with the "Dinty Moore (gag), Beefaroni (ack)." I'm a meatloaf lover, but only my own which is exactly how my Mom used to make it. I'll have to try your roast rub; sounds delicious so I copied the ingredients to my recipe folder. Hope you don't mind. That sirloin tip roast and mashed potatoes really sounds great. I'll bet he loved that as a send-off to freshman year. I hope the boy comes home today telling you that everything went smoothly on his first day. What kind of cookies did you bake? Congrats on your walk with DH. How are you feeling today? Cough any better?

Hope and Cassie, I am rooting for both of you to get some better sleep this
week!

jma75, welcome! Great idea to plan meals a day ahead! That would help ME a lot and I'm an old hand at using FitDay's food log.

Lizzie, I'm with you on the "must do better week." I never heard that Irish blessing. I like that one.

Rose, thanks for the hug and please let us hear some of the new dishes you're eating over there across the pond, even if it turns out to be "food porn" for us. Thanks so much for the pep talk with which you started our new weekly thread. I really needed that. What's in store for me this week IS that fresh new start, plus our 17 year old granddaughter should be moving in with us Wednesday. We're really happy about it--she's a great kid. Scotland! Oh, I'm so jealous! My Milligan ancestors hailed from there. Wishing you an amazing, wonderful trip there.

Mike! You had a WONDERFUL week on food and fitness. Congrats to ya on your loss, too!

Ashlie, great to see you back this week again. Wishing you a less crazy week as I wish that for myself, too. Come to think of it, so many of us had bad weeks last week.

April, you had a WONDERFUL week on food and water. Wow! Congrats on that 2.2 lb. loss! And congrats on that 45 lbs. to date! That's just plain FANTASTIC! With what did you stuff your peppers? I LOVE stuffed peppers.

Ann, sorry about those sinus allergies. I have that, too (OK right now) and sometimes they're just plain dreadful! Best wishes this week on feeling better and on your goals.

Mern...my peppers are kind of plain compared to some but I stuffed with lean ground beef & rice and pour v8 juice over them. My hubby can't do strong tomato sauces but v8 works well in these type of dishes. Tonight we are having leftovers from the ground beef that didn't fit in the peppers and the beef roast as well. Should be a yummy dinner but don't know how nice of a deficit I am going to get today. For some reason I keep shoving fruit in my mouth today. Three banans and an apple so far. Not the worst thing in the world, but WTH?

My goals this week will be the same as usual, only I hope to be more successful on coming in at 25g carbs or less since our garden tomotoes are pretty much gone, except for the ones we canned.

Amy, those of us still married to our first husband are rare birds these days. We are very fortunate to have not had to go through that heartache. So sorry to hear of your classmate's gastric by-passbeing such a bad move for him. That surgery scares me--so much can go wrong.

Quinn, I can understand both your dread of doing that drywalling plus sorting through and donating old stuff that holds so many memories. My grandkids don't go back to school until September 6, either.

Hope, OMG you and your daughter are in my prayers. My heart goes out to you!

ChibiSub and Mai, congrats on the exercise!

Mike, best wishes on that epidural again on Wednesday.

April, yeah, since you lost 2.2 lbs. last week on those goals, it's great to keep them the same. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!" Way to go!

April, I don't like a lot of sauce on my stuffed peppers, either. I haven't had them for a while but I used to stuff mine with rice, ground beef, some spices, and tomatoes with juice. Oh, I just thought of something--I could stuff them with low carb faux Spanish rice made with cauliflower. Thanks for initiating the great idea. LOL on all the fruit--maybe your body is craving the nutrients found in the bananas and apples.
