If anyone is looking for a good cookbook, you simply must check out The Skinny Taste Cookbook! Every recipe I've tried so far has been a hit!!! Love this cookbook!!

Thanks, Mern, for the info and website.

Annette: How are you doing? Sure hope you're feeling better!

Debbie: I'm enjoying my new cookbooks by George Stella, too. Glad you're enjoying your new recipes--the Cubanella recipe sound great!

Still battling bursitis in my shoulder but it's beginning to ease up a bit--at least I can move it more than I could over the weekend!
Our warm temps and sunshine have taken a vacation. Now we're having steady rain and cooler temps. Our backyard looks like a small lake. Might have to get a rowboat! Vicki

I have heard nothing but great things about this cookbook! Are there any vegetarian recipes? I'd love to try one

Hello all! I was so happy to see the scale drop this morning. I know there are many ways for us to track our progress and the scale is only 1 of many ways, but still happy to see it moving south Now to stay the course over the weekend so hopefully I don't undo all I did this week!

Vicki - I too suffer from bursitis in my shoulders...so uncomfortable! I still have yet to figure out what causes it to flare and what to do (but absolutely no activity?) to make it settle back down. Careful using a rowboat....I don't think that would help the bursitis to settle

Roxy - There is only 1 small chapter on meatless mains, which is only about 10 recipes. You're probably better off checking her website...you'll most likely get more vegetarian recipes there than from the cookbook.

Mern - hey there busy lady!

Lynda - Uh oh...the weekends here....can we stay away from the bevys?!?! LOL! I used to drink before I was married (a bit of a partier some would say) but once I married, I settled down. 7 years later, we started a family. After I had my two kids, I discovered red wine! Not sure what that says about me...didn't drink until I had kids...hmmmm? LOL!

Annette - How's the toothache? Hope you're getting some relief!

Bea - How you doin'?

Mike - You're doing a good job meeting your goals this week. Hope the scale is nice today!

Lisa - Hey girl Just checkin' in to say hi and hope to see you posting again soon!

Libby - Hey buddy! How you doin'?

Hello to anyone else I missed! I'll check back in later

Hi Everyone!

I'm just happy to have undone the "Great Potato Chip Fiasco" of last weekend!

I am at the exact point I was last Friday, but in the 1 week, I have gained and lost 9 pounds!! lol

My commitment for this weekend - Stay out of the snack isle!
Onward and upward to a more productive me!
My new week starts right - NOW!
I have
7 x 24 hours to be in a MUCH better place than I am at this moment

(No more weekend write-offs: That is essentially writing off from scale on Friday to Monday morning, then undoing the damage Mon-Wed ....and hoping Thurs-Fri is good to me)

No hoping this week...... there WILL be a big change by next Fri (Which is my birthday BTW) and the change will happen because of the decisions I make right now!

Jumps off the soapbox!

No relief other that one doctor giving me the go-ahead to use pain killers.

I went to the dental surgeon. He can give me a root canal without issue, but the tooth will be at risk for breaking until I have the crown put on, which requires cutting of the gums. That costs $2600, which I don't have.
For $300 I can have an extraction, with no foreseeable future issues. Either procedure will require the doctor to okay my meds being reduced or stopped for a period of time before the dentist can do the work.

I called and talked to my specialist's answering machine, so I went to my GP. Three months ago he was ready to control my meds, but now he won't touch them and says the dental surgeon can pull a tooth without altering my meds.

So, my dental surgeon put in a call to my specialist.

At this rate, the best I can hope for is July.

I hate that I have gained weight. I haven't walked all week. I have been sleeping extra to avoid pain. Worst of all, I have been comfort eating.

Bea - Again I'm right with you! I gained 4.8 lbs. last weekend and lost 5.6 lbs. this week! I wonder where I would have ended up if I didn't over indulge last weekend. I'm going to do my best this weekend and I will see a change next week!

Annette - You are having a rough go of it! Did you try the oil the others here have suggested for temporary pain relief? So sorry you have to endure this pain!

Hi Deb and all. Just hangin in there. I have had a skin flare up and my face is broken out in red crusty bumps. I don't want to leave the house so I am just laying low.
