Vitamin A in carrots
So, just out of curiosity, when I look at the nutrition information for carrots, it says 3 oz. is 242% of my Vitamin A, but when I log it, and go look at my nutrition info for the day, it doesn't add up to anywhere near that. Is this a deliberate thing, like coded into the algorithm for how vitamin percentages are calculated based on like, how your body absorbs it or something? Or is it just a bug? I don't know if these things simply are supposed to add linearly or not.

Great question. I believe this explanation for Supplements explains this nicely:

You're welcome, Joanna. Actually, it was "kinda" asked before, but not exactly the same way as you asked it.
I really like the answer as it explains just how "robust" the FD program is. It's just a shame that people don't know what they're talking about when they jump to the conclusion that there's an "error". No error, customization!
You were wise to not jump to any conclusions about an apparent discrepancy.
