Default Vitamin Labeling

Hello everyone.

I have a question regarding my Vitamin label.
The quantity of vitamins on the label is in micrograms and miligrams, not in percentages.
If I make a new custom food, vitamins can only be inserted as a percentage.
So, how can I insert them correctly? Is there another way?

Thank.

Default This is an older post, but ...

does anyone have an answer to this?

Just curious.

Will check later to see if there is a response,

That's a tough one. The only thing I can suggest is that you'll have to do some math. Take the amounts given on the bottle and compare them to the RDA's for your age and sex here:

If someone has a better answer, easier solution, go for it.

Thanks Vito.

I was debating about to add or not add vitamin to my food list.

That chart is you linkied is helpful.

I think that I'll just somehow chart it as taken. I may add it & see if I can put no value to it - sort of like water. Just a way to track.

Cheers!

I created my vitamins doing just what vito suggested I wrote down all the recommended amounts then took a calculator and did the %'s. It was really worth it as we all tend to cut back on certain foods as our lifestyle changes. It turns out I wasn't even close to my E's or potassium so having this info I was able to add sunflower seeds and sweet potatoes to my plan and poof problem solved.

Darlene, I LIVE on sweet potatoes now. They've become a staple of my diet.

For the most part, percentages on labels are kind of meaningless.....I mean, a 5ft skinny woman will have much different requirements to a 6ft 5inch heavily muscled man. 100mg of a vitamin may be 100% for the woman, and only 60% for the man.
