Default Beware of the killer sodium!

Sodium (salt) is in almost every single food product we buy out there and I didn't realize how much until I had gall stones and was not allowed to have salt in my diet at all. Salt made things taste so much better to me but the after effects on my body just weren't worth it! I am glad I found out now while I am still young so that I can turn around my future.

It's really hard to wean yourself off a high-sodium diet, but it can be done. Even a little bit of salt contributes to making something flavorful. Yet, it's hard to stay with just a 'little bit' - it starts creeping up in quantity.

Salt food during cooking , not at the table. Food will taste better with far less salt.

Made up numbers to make point: 1/8 tsp (per serving) during cooking will season and bring out flavors better than 1/2 tsp sprinkled on at the table.

There's also "Lite Salt" if you really need to add salt. It's a balance between sodium and potassium, actually the potassium is more.
