Hey Out There In The Cyberclinic

I've been on Fit Day for a few weeks now, and am down 7 pounds. Only 46 lbs to go! (ha) I am keeping my caloric intake to about 2000 a day and working out an hour every afternoon. So far, so good. My big weakness is this awesome cupcake shop I pass everyday on my way home from work. Seriously, they have the best cupcakes in the world. To die for. But since Im not willing to die for them, I am being strong and staying out of the shop. They emailed me and asked if something was wrong, since I hadnt been in for 2 weeks. They offered me a free cupcake I went back, my choice of flavors! But I am resisting the temptor. Is there a 12 step program for cupcake addictions?;)

Cupcakes!

Do they have mini cakes? I have found that if I have a craving and it doesn't go away, I tend to obsess about it. And then I end up going overboard. So I decide to let myself have a mini size or get one and cut into 4 pieces and share with others. It allows me to curb my craving so I don't feel deprived (life style change vs. dieting) and I get to socialize, which helps with my endorphins because it makes me happy.

Good luck.

Maybe you need to consider allowing yourself 1 cupcake once every week or two. Like mmbrown said, that may be enough so you don't feel like you have deprived yourself. A lot of the lifestyle change is a mental battle. I have the attitude that I can eat anything. I just can't indulge frequently or in large quantities. Everything (even cupcakes) in moderation, lol. You are best equiped to gauge which approach works the best for you. Good luck and stay strong.

Many cakes? Oh yeah, Ive had MANY cakes. Oh..."mini" cakes.:D
Actually they do, and thats a great idea, but right now I'm trying to stay completely out because this shop is like a delicious buttercreme mousetrap to me. I'm doing pretty good, and maybe someday I can go back in without feeling the need to buy 1/2 dozen cupcakes at a time.:(

Thanks for the response!
