Here we go again

I'm new to the forums but I've used FitDay before. About me, well, I'm overweight. Its something I've struggled with my entire life. I'm 37 years old, married with two children and I've never known what its like to not be fat.

In August of 2009 I had reached 336 lbs at 6'0" tall. I made some changes and quickly lost some weight. I hit the gym 3 days a week, took up jogging, and got down to 288lbs at one point. I kept it up for 2+ years but stress, nagging injuries, financial difficulties and life in general caught up with me. No, I allowed those factors to but I digress. I got very frustrated as the effort required to go from 336 to 300 was far less than the last 12 lbs. I thought I was doing everything right but I was inconsistent....and I worried more about my workouts than my nutrition.

I've recently returned home from a family vacation in Yellowstone National Park. While I figure out how I'm going to pay for it, I was a little disappointed at my performance hiking some of the trails and what not.

Anyhow...consistency. Yeah. Don't kick butt for 10days then got to my favorite Mexican food joint.

I hit the gym this morning, just some of the basic lifts at a reasonable weight to get the muscles moving again. Got stuff planned for this afternoon.

Essentially, my goal is to limit my caloric intake to the proper levels and make that intake consist of good food, not garbage. Cut way down on carbs, get alot of protein and greens. MWF lifting, walking>working back up to jogging, hiking and swimming.

So, my starting weight is 301. We'll see how this goes.
