Linda, you found a great place to find support. We need to build reinforcements as we work through becoming more fit. There's a lot of people here with a lot of wonderful ideas & true understanding.

You'll find that I use a lot of motivational sayings because our first line of defense against our personal battles is our thought process. That's tough and that's something I continue to work on. This week's thought focus for me is:
PERSIST *~* "Champions keep playing until they get it right." -Billie Jean King

My suggestion is to start with small action goals. Keep practicing on those small goals and as you hit the mark, either add other goals or raise the bar on your current goals. As you hit the mark on your actions goals (drinking water, exercise . . .)more & more frequently, then you'll see wonderful effect on your target goals (decrease inches, decrease weight. . .).

Yesterday was NOT good for me. But that is behind me. Now I focus on today & even moment-by-moment.

Feel free to join us over on the 7-Day Motivational Thread --> over in the Womens' Section & stickied to the top of the forum weekly. We each make goals that make sense to us, we give & recieve support & ideas. Just post what you can & when you can during the week. Let us know how you're progressing with your goals. :)

I hope this wasn't too preachy. I want you to know that there are people here who know the struggle, and yet are seeing hope. It is possible to make a turn around.

Hi! & Welcome!

The first thing that I learned when I started down the path to a healthier me is that I can't be perfect all the time. Sure I ate cake & ice cream at a birthday party yesterday. I could have just said "Oh the heck with it!" and ate all kinds of junk the rest of the day. But I didn't, I was back on plan with the next meal. That is how it has to be. This is not an all or nothing game.

Hope that isn't too harsh. Look forward to seeing you achieve some goals and feeling better about you! And yes, as Luv said, please drop over to the women's only section and join in the motivational thread that is stickied at the top of the forum. It is wonderful for motivation and accountability.
