New to FitDay
Hi I am Mae, I am almost 46, live in the South and looking for some support to lose a few very stubborn pounds.
I had gestational diabetes with my second pregnancy and a very un hapy marriage which packed some weight on. The g diabetes led to some high sugar problems as well as some other health issues and I began to make changes.
I was successful in losing over 50 lbs and I felt great. I got remarried and some new stress issues surfaced and I have gained 8 lbs over the last 16 months and do not want this trend to continue, I just seem to have lost the focus and drive I had before to lose weight. I am focusing on the family problems and not making time to care for myself.
I just need a boost to get me back on track.
On both sides of my family we have so many health issues that I need to be better at taking care of myself for my daughter and my new grandson, but just seem to get bogged down in the daily negatives.
I would appreciate tips and advice on how to get and stay focused, de-stress and not let the day just do me in.
Congrats on the decision to recommit to your goals. You seem to be having a tough time with your journey. I'd like to make a suggestion which will ultimately help with the diabetes and any other health issues you and your family may suffer from. Read one or all of the following books: The Paleo Diet by Loren Cordain, The Paleo Solution by Robb Wolf, and The Primal Blueprint by Mark Sisson. They are all amazing people and have great advice on thriving with a paleo/primal diet. My father has had great success with this diet by losing excess weight and "curing" his arthritis and psoriasis.
