Nightime eating

Hello All:
I am new to fitday and am excited to start my weight loss initiative.
My biggest problem is eating at night. Does anyone have any tips on how to handle this?
thanks so much!

Welcome! Congrats on starting your journey to a healthier you!

Night time snacking...ughhhh! I try to combat it by drinking a glass of water and see if I still really want something. I also will get a sugar free popsicle (15 cals) and eat that slowly. It usually helps.

Welcome!

Perhaps it's too simple, but how about simply eating your evening meal later at night? I try not to eat supper before 5:30 or 6:00 and sometimes much later. If you're full, you'll be much less tempted to snack.

Otherwise, I'd plan into your calorie intake a modest evening snack and add a glass or two of water to it.

Regards,
Michael

Eating at night has always been a problem for me, too.

I try not to eat dinner too early.

I keep sugar free Jello and sugar free pudding on hand and have that with a dab of whipped topping (because my weekness is sweets).

I brush my teeth. I won't eat anything after I brush my teeth.

I have also just changed my mindset about evening munching. That has not been easy but having the Jello or pudding to look forward to really helps.
