Default A Usual Suspect I'm Afraid !!

Hi Everyone

I'm Elle (or L) and I suppose I am one of those usual suspects . . . leap from being on a diet to eating whatever I please to trying another diet only to end up bigger than I was before.

Since splitting with my ex-husband I have had a rollercoaster ride of dirrernt emotions . . the biggest being happiness and relief but yet I put on 30kg !!! on top of my already very large frame . . . When I split from him I was about 100kg . . now I am 136 and it is devastating

Since I have started and not continued diets so many times I can't count . . . I have 3 beautiful girls . . . and a wonderful new partner who loves me for who I am !! But I want to loose weight for ME . . . I feel uncomfortable I feel awful and really I just feel god darn FAT !!!

I don't want to be a tiny skinny minny I merely want to be comfortable in my own skin !!! and would statr by being under 100kg . . . but that just seems like so far away !!!

If you have ANY advice I would be SO SO SO appreciative and If any of you out there would lik eto be my mentor or weight loss friend PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE just contact me !! I would really be very appreciative !!!

Thanks

L

welcome to FitDay L. Check out the 7 day motivational threads that go on weekly in the womens section. There will be a lot of support there for you, but now you have the entire forums at your disposal.

Welcome aboard ElleNTT!!! I too have 3 beautiful daughters. I might be able to give you some pointers. I'm not good at being told what to eat so prescribed "diets" never work for me, but counting my calories and the burn from my workout, and using that information to make good choices for the rest of the day does work for me. Here are a few things I do everyday:

1 hour of workout (6 days a week)
2 servings of grain based carbs, and I try and keep it under 200 calories total
3 servings of fruit and mix it up, so it's not all the same kind of fruit.
4-5 servings of lean, low-fat proteins
6-7 servings of vegetables (especially lean, green & leafy)
8-9 glasses of water (actually 64 oz baseline + another 8 oz for every 10lbs you want to lose)
10,000 steps on the pedometer
1,500 calories/day (give or take)

I have to say one of the best things that has come of my improved eating habits is that it's rubbing off on the children. How's that for motivation?
