I joined FitDay about 3 weeks ago on 3/12/11. I finally decided to explore the forums today.
This is not the first time I've changed my eating habits to lose weight. I lost 40 lbs before I had my daughter, but that was 7 years ago. After she was born, I never really got back into my better eating habits. I'm ready to do it again. I'm only 33 so I have (hopefully) a long time left on this earth. I want to be healthy and enjoy the rest of my life with my husband and daughter.
When I started this time around, I was 5'6" and 246 lbs. As of today, I've lost 9.5 lbs and am at 236.5.
I know the first few weeks on a new food plan often have a dramatic drop, but I'm happy with the roughly 1 lb loss per week I'm settling into. I've set a 1 year goal weight of 194 lbs.
Some days it's easy to lose track of why I'm doing this in all of the numbers and re-thinking I'm having to do. I'm hoping reading and posting to the forums will help me keep some perspective.
