Hi, I'm a 41 year old female who has done competitive sport all my life. Unfortunately I just tend to do too much of it and not eat enough, which means my poor body doesn't know if it's coming or going and whenever I exercise I experience major water retention. As of today, I have limited myself to just 3 days of exercise a week (it's going to KILL me!) but one has to do what one has to do.
I have now upped my basic calorie intake to 1400 (from 1200) - I'm 5ft9 and weigh 191lbs (I think (I'm a metric girl)) and 1700-1800 on days that I exercise. Exercise to date has pretty much been at a "balls to the wall" pace so am now really going to attempt to slow it down a bit to see if my body can recover over the next six months or so. I thought if I joined something like FitDay, I may just be able to pull it off if I have people assist me in keeping on the straight and narrow!
Happy Friday everyone.

I can relate to you. This week was supposed to be my week off from the gym and I couldn't stay out of it. I'm pretty much "balls to the wall" as well. There are many times that I've left the gym and was totally drained, felt like I've been beat up and ready to puke.
