Started this log the day after I retire. All is going well, but what is the correct balance between FAT, CARBS and Proteins for each day.

There has been much discussion on this subject and the best answer is what works for you. Personally mine is 30% Protein, 30% Carbs and 40% Fat. (My fats are from whole foods like eggs, meat, nuts and olive oil.) Others will have success limiting fat to 20% or increasing Protein to 40%. Others that follow an Atkins type approach have success with very low carbohydrate intake. You will need to see what works best for you.

Here is what has worked for me:
*Eliminate or severly restrict simple carbohydrates like white bread, processed foods and sugar.
*Eat more vegetables and fruit.
*Keep protein at or above 30% of calories.
*Stop drinking your calories, except for some milk my beverages have little or no calories. Water is now my beverage of choice.

Hope these suggestions help you get started and welcome.

Ron laid out some good info there. I just wanted to crongratulate you on retiring! Most people come to me for advice before they retire, but we can all be here for you during retirement.

The best advice I can give is, STAY ACTIVE. Try not to have too much time sitting around, this may cause you to want to eat.

Happy retirement! Just wanted to repeat what Ron said - it's important to find out what works best for your body, and most of us have tried different combinations to see what works best. I'd be miserable on Ron's regime, and tend to feel best/recover easiest on ~50-55% carbs, 30% fat and 20% protein. Have fun learning what works best for you!
