Hello There!

Hi everyone! I am very excited to meet you and to join the journey to lifelong health! I am ninteen years old and I would like to tell you my story.
I went to college as a freshman last year-weighing 227 pounds and let me tell you my self esteem wasn't very high! But through the school year I began to go to the school gym and workout, just a little at first but then more and more as I got addicted. I stopped eating junk food and by the end of the year I had lost 50 pounds! I was thrilled! But then I went home and without a gym close by quickly got out of shape. However I have mostly maintained my weight over the summer only gaining two pounds.
But now I want to shape up and ship out those extra pounds and blubber! My goal weight right now is 169 and I would like to reach that goal by the New Year. Hopefully I am going to get a treadmill soon so I don't have to exercise in the freezing cold of winter. ;)
So ya, nice to meet y'all,
Tamara

I actually had a similar experience when I started college. After coming from a 'meat-n-potatoes, clean your plate' household to an environment where I could have fresh fruit and veggies whenever I wanted, I also lost about 50 pounds in my first few two years of school.

It's great to see that you wrote of your excitement to join the lifelong journey to health! After maintaining for five years, it was only because I forgot about that 'lifelong' part that I got out of shape and found myself back here.

Congrats on all your hard work so far and welcome to the site!

Welcome and good luck! Treadmills are great, especially when it is icy out...you can't use weather as an excuse :)
