I can help people lose weight without spending a dime! 100% FREE!

Anyone ready to take this weight loss challenge?

It's SIMPLE, but not EASY.

Just log what you eat and burn more calories through exercise.

Phoned for follow-up appointment to go over my bloodwork with GP and he is booked up until August. It will be a month until I am able to see him. I would like to get my results before then!
I go see a specialist every 6 months who also checks A1C so I'm debating whether I need to see my family Dr in between. I check my glucose levels at home and weigh myself once a week (sometimes twice). I can also email dietician if I have any questions.

My pretty vague goals:

1. At least one work out while away (W&Th), W-only walked, Th-Swam 30 mins
2. Weekly deficit over 3000
3. Make healthy food choices while away. Not bad other than the popcorn.
4. At least 5 bags of stuff to leave the house this week, charity, garbage, whatever. M-1, T-1, Th-1

Walking challenge: M-2m, T-1m, W-1m. Th-1.5m

Back from my trip, overall it went ok. I actually packed a lunch! for the trip, I never did that before.........I am sure it saved money and junkfood purchases on the road.

Donna, I love that you know exactly what causes the cravings. Pretty easy fix. And even more I loved your sarcastic ad I am surprisingly annoyed by the spammers on this site. I see a lot of them in the early am.

Jenn, I would like to try lawn mowing I think it's a great exercise but we have a tractor to do the lawn and my husband would NEVER give that up, even with his broken leg lol.

Thursday update:

Goals:

1. log food every day M=Y, T=Y, W=Y, Th = Y
2. keep calories between 1400-1600 M= 1575, T=1290, W=1645, Th = 1350
3. exercise on my lunch hour at least three times 3 done

I was supposed to donate blood today and saved calories for their juice and cookies. I didn't get to donate so I may find a snack later to bring the calories up to my lower target. I never knew heat rash disqualified you from donating.

After all the trouble you had getting that blood drawn, I don't see why you should have to wait until August for more info.

It usually only takes a few days for test results to return. I'd call and ask the nurse to mail or fax a copy of the test results, or at least quote them to you on the phone. They are usually in a form that lists the values and the 'normal,' or reference range for the test, and you should be able to at least get some idea of where you stand. And if it's complicated you have a month to look up what the terms mean, and have some questions prepared for the doc.

I always ask for copies of all the med tests I have done. Then I can compare 'my normal' against where I am now. I ask for a copy at the time I get the test, but usually have to follow up to get them. I just think it's a good thing to have a copy of all my med records. After all, they're mine, and I have an acute interest in what's going on with me.

Getting close to shutting down Day 4 of the 7 day abstinence challenge. So far, no problem at all. (Well, maybe a longing here and there for a nice cool beer or margarita or whatever.)

Weekly weigh-in on Wednesday was sort of blah, but that was to be expected after the huge drop last week. I did weigh-in again the next morning and was down 2lbs so I guess it was just a fluctuation.

How often does everyone else weigh in? I was figuring once a week so I don't become overly focused on the scale. But would be interested to hear what others do.

calories: M -1135 T-1147 W-789 T-881
water: Y, Y, Y, Y,
exercise: lots of walking outside

I went out for lunch with a friend and ate the burger without the bun, ate the tomato and lettuce, passed on the fries and took the donut home to my son.
It was a good day.

Why did the title for this week need to be "What have you got to lose?", everytime I read that I think "my dignity".

This whole week I've fallen back on old habbits But this morning I sat down with a calculator and figured out what needs to be done to save the week.

Good job Dad on keeping with the no alcohol challenge. I see Kocia hasn't posted about it so I'm hoping I'm not the only 1 who fell short.

Your dignity? ... and you have ~that~ as an avatar?

I picked the title because that was what I was thinking before I noticed a new thread had not been started.

It took me months to come to grips with the idea of losing weight, nearly a year to lose it, now another year in remissi.., I mean maintenance.
