Whew! I just got through reading this whole thread!
Thanks op, it was a great thread & a great motivator.
When I first joined this site towards the beginning of last month, I wrote a list of reasons why I thought I had gotten fat and why I thought it would be difficult to lose the weight. I remember your post, not word for word, but you basically said to me the same thing as what you said here: that it's all just excuses and I need to OWN IT.
YOU ARE SO RIGHT AND THANK YOU FOR THAT!!!
Many days after that post I have thought about your remarks.
It reminds me of something a close friend told me once, about a decade ago, and it still rings in my head. At the time I was complaining about financial woes, but the principle is the same. She said:
DON'T BE A VICTIM.
That's my mantra for this weight loss. Maybe I should add it to my signature.
