Lisa: I'm participating in a weight loss challenge with those in my Diabetes Prevention classes--we each are trying to lose 7% of our weight at the beginning of the class. Each has a different number of pounds to lose but the percentage is the same. So far I've lost almost half of my 7%. Just another idea for you!

Nikki: I understand totally about the weight flunctuations! Just over a year ago, I was eating what I thought was a good diet-- plenty of good carbs and protein, yet I felt miserable and the weight kept piling on while my asthma worsened. Finally, my MD sent me to a specialist who gave me a reality check BIG TIME! He then told me what and how to eat for weight loss and to better manage my asthma. I've followed his guidelines and lost over 120 pounds--got about 80 more to go and then we'll see if that's where I want to be or if I want to get a bit lower on the scale. You can totally do this!

Libby: I had a 'happy' moment when my rings started turning on my fingers and another one came when I got to take off my birthstone ring! Won't be too much longer before I'll have to take off my wedding rings until I get to the weight I want to be and get them resized. Getting them resized to a smaller size will be a HAPPY day for sure!

Debbie: Happy cleaning! I love a clean, well-organized home! Feel better soon!

I'm trying a new recipe with zucchini and Greek yogurt today. If I like it, I'll post it later. Vicki

Vicki, thanks for the idea! How long do you have to try to lose 7%?

Debbie, your positive attitude is coming through loud and clear. Keep that up! I'm curious to know your plan for the week once you have it nailed down.

Libbie, the ring thing is so exciting! and over 14 lbs since September??? That's freaking amazing! What kind of plan do you follow to achieve such success? Like what types of things do you eat, exercise, etc?

Sounds like several of us are on board with a challenge. I'd like to hear back from Vicki on details of the one she's doing to gauge one for us. I'll make a thread for a Monday start. Sound good all?

Jeff is cooking a pizza in the oven right now. It smells sooooo good! But guess what. I'm not having any. Nope, I really want to stay on plan today because the number on the scale was 2 lbs lower than yesterday. Yes, I realize that's just a fluctuation and will change as I eat throughout the day, but it's a number that I'm making a goal for Friday weigh-in. Pizza isn't good for that. So I'm having a nice cold glass of atkins chocolate royale and 1 cup of milk instead.

I'm loving the vibe we have going on in here right now! It's infectious. Let's keep up the positivity!

Mike, how are you doing on your goals this week? and I second Debbie wondering where's Hope and Becca.

Lisa: We have 16 weeks to lose the 7%. Monday, the 5th, will start our 5th week; so we have until the 1st Monday in 2016 to lose the 7%. Vicki

Hi all! My day was not nearly as productive as I'd hoped...maybe I bit off more than I can chew I did manage to get in the exercise, track calories, get some cleaning accomplished and take the kids to swimming...but not all the cleaning! Thank goodness there's tomorrow!

Vicki - You are a rockstar girl! Seriously!! I have a confession to make...I feel so badly for starting the last group challenge here on fitday and then bailing on you and everyone else that stuck it out....also, you were the challenge winner

....and I never even came back on here to congratulate you. Please accept my apology. You are setting a very good example for many...including myself! 120 lbs.!?!? Did I read that right? I have no words...wow!

Libby - 14.2 lbs.!! Libby that's fantastic!! I didn't even realize!.....probably because I was MIA for so long. I'm so impressed by you! I know you've been through a lot with your husband and son being out of work and hurting your foot. I hope they are both back to work? You're proving to yourself that you can do this! Keep up the great work buddy!

Lisa - Sure, make a thread and start us off on a challenge! I'm really excited for a new challenge and to prove to myself that I too can feel the sweet taste (or savoury...since I prefer savoury ) of success!

Nikki, Mike, Hope...what are you up to today? Hope you're all having a fantastic day!

Later fitdayers

A box of chocolate mint Girl Guide cookies made their way into the house and I am having a hard time saying NO.

Don't do it Libby!!! Just think about how bad you'll feel after!! Think about how bad you'll feel when the scale reacts to the cookies!! Is it worth it??? Really worth it??

Son of a gun...I was feeling so up...but now I'm feeling down. I was looking through old pictures with the kids tonight when they commented how my husband hasn't changed but how I look completely different. Gawd I hate their honesty at times! I'm just trying to shake it off and let those comments motivate me to make changes in the weeks to come....but it still hurt. **sigh**

Debbie: Thanks but I'm so glad I'm losing even if no one ever notices! I'm doing it for my health and I enjoyed the challenge so no apology is needed. Looking forward to the next challenge!

Libby: Can you give the cookies away or at least have someone else hide them? Kids can be brutally honest at time--my youngest grandson told me one day I was fat. I really was at that time but I didn't want to hear it, especially from him!

The zucchini recipe's got to be tweaked abit before posting--it's rather watery, bland and heavy on the yogurt sauce. I think more seasoning's needed along with more flour to thicken it some and less yogurt. Will try it again later and let you folks know what I think. Vicki

I wish I would have checked in a littler earlier to see Debbie's message to Libby about staying away from the cookie jar. All I had all day was an atkins with milk. Then I went shopping for dinner while hungry, came home starving, and broke down and had a small piece of pizza. Then I proceeded to make dinner on top of that. double The only good thing is that I only ate half of what I actually put on my plate. We had picnic food for dinner tonight. The really bad part is that I bought myself Hungry Girl bread for my sandwich, put it on the counter with the rest of the food, and then two minutes later completely forgot I bought it and used a roll instead. So angry with myself for that one. I think I have short term memory loss. Needless to say, I am over my calories today, but not horribly bad. I'm glad I recognized I was binging and limited myself to half my plate.

Debbie, I too have kids who are brutally honest. My daughter says I embarrass her. Lovely. Hurts. Don't let that bring you down. You're getting on a really good stretch of being motivated, so don't let that derail you.

Vicki, let us know how it turns out after you tweak the recipe a little.

Libby, I hope you won out over the cookies. Those dang Girl Scout cookies are a bear because they're so good! You'll just be mad at yourself if you give in. Can you eat just one or will that lead to a binge?

Annette, where are you?

Well, I'm taking a huuuuuuge step. I'm writing my Sunday grocery list, and there is no soda, diet OR regular, on the list. I'm going to have faith that the flavored water I make with the infuser bottle I'm getting Sunday will make me a water convert. In order to make delicious infusions, I'm going to Sprouts to buy a list of fruits and herbs...oranges, apples, peaches, blackberries, blueberries, raspberries, pineapple, strawberries, lemon, mint and basil.

I looked up infusion recipes on Pinterest and I was really surprised to see that peaches and pineapple weren't on anyone's list. I think they'll be amazing! It will be a ton of fruit in the fridge, but there will be 3 of us making waters with it. I hope it lasts us the week. The pineapples I'm just getting canned because I don't want to deal with chopping up a whole pineapple, but I'm going to wash it when I take it out of the can to get as much syrupy sugar off it as I can.

I'm cooking pork roast in the crock pot today. I can't wait to have that for dinner! Making it with potatoes, onions and carrots. I already calculated my calories for Sunday with the pork and roasted veggies, and if I can stick to a full dinner and just 1 atkins with milk I'll stay in my calorie goal. I don't know if I can stick to that on a weekend, but I'll try my best.

It's 1:55 am and I'm wide awake. There is nothing going on any of my links, so you all get the brunt of my boredom with this lovely novella. Aren't you lucky?? lol I'll report later on how I do.
