Hope everything's ok with your neighbor, Libby.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My Strategy for the Week (June 8-14):
  • 7-day Rolling Average calories = 1300-1400: 1315, 1343, 1330, 1344
  • 7-day Rolling Average water/tea, minimum 2500mL (10+ 8oz glasses): 3389, 3389, 3389, 3389
  • 7-day Rolling Average sodium = 1000-1400: 1064, 1041, 1089, 1102
  • 7-day Rolling Average sat fat = under 18g: 18, 18, 15, 15
  • Macro -- 7-day Rolling Average Fats = 50-60g: 57, 57, 51
  • Macro -- 7-day Rolling Average Carbs = 125-135g: 126, 129, 131, 135
  • Macro -- 7-day Rolling Average Protein = 90-100: 96,102, 107, 107
  • Macro -- 7-day Rolling Average Fiber = 30-40g: 33, 34, 35, 35
  • Explore! Try something new or do some nutrition-related research at least 2 times:
    • Thursday: Did a bit more research on cinnamon. Apparently there are a bunch of varieties. Who knew? Anyway, I did it because I was out of cinnamon yesterday and picked up some Saigon cinnamon. It's quite a bit stronger than what I usually get. I may have to go back to the other stuff.
See ya tomorrow, folksies!
Hello Epi (and all)
Good for you re: weight goal! Three cheers!
I'm making another choice today...but it isn't really my choice...
Dentist went really badly - my tooth was cracked...all the way across and has to be pulled in 7 days...
Good news is...I'm on a soft food diet for those seven days and amoxicillin - for me that means pounds off!
Yayeeee!!!!!
I'm also going on the roof swimming today...as it's like 120'F here already...
I've been reading everyone's posts...re: decisions...
I loved the one about Parking a mile away...that's excellent!
I hope you're all well
Best
Jenn
I got logged out this morning. GRRRR. I hate when that happens. I did OK this week. The scale said 191.1 this morning. I will take it. Now I need to get some house work done.
Ack, Jenn!!! Cracked tooth, ow ow ow ow ow!!! I love how you're making the best of it, though -- soft food diet FTW. Seriously, I hope you're not in any pain. Toothache is just about the worst. Labor pains take the prize, but toothache is right up there. 120 degrees??? I'd live in the pool!
Woohoo Libby, glad to hear about your great week! And with regard to the log-offs, they stink. Check my sig for a workaround.
Not my best eating day today. I didn't eat anything *bad*, I just ate too much good stuff. Calories for the day were over 1550. However, because the last several days have been on the low end, my averages are still reasonable. Trends are what's important to me. A high day can be offset by a lower one, and it's all good if it evens out.
TGIF!!!
Yesterday I made some bad decisions foodwise, but that is not uncommon on the days that I mow the lawn. Worse on the days when I mow after it hasn't been done for a while.
I live in a house full of future heart attacks. Husband out puffing on a cigarette on the driveway, son sits in basement playing games and eating junk food, daughter works hard, but shares junk food.
The stuff is in my house and even though the manufacturers disguise the stuff with multigrain labels and a few flax seeds, it's still junk food.
Good from yesterday: I burned plenty of calories mowing the front yard.
Today I am going to a BBQ Birthday bash. I will be drinking water, bringing my own buns for burgers, and eating parsnip chips. Disguised again.
Annette: Do you do most of the grocery shopping? Perhaps you can tell folks, "This is what I'm going to buy -- if you want other stuff, you know where the market is"? Of course, I don't know your family dynamics -- that sort of statement might not fly in your home . Hope you had fun at the BBQ.
    • Saturday: Tried a low sodium mushroom barley soup. I wanted to like it, but I found it to be rather bland. The broth was thin and somewhat watery. It wasn't awful (heck, I ate the whole can, which is 2 servings), but wasn't as tasty as I hoped. It was better when I drank most of the broth and had a better ratio of barley/mushrooms to broth.
I've made a promise to myself that tomorrow I'm going to make those hi-protein, hi-fiber muffins that I've been threatening to make. I think I have everything I need. Except maybe the ummmph to get off my butt and actually do it .
Hi Epi and Annette...
I sat down and had that very same chat with my husband...
He doesn't smoke, but he snacks incessantly at night, which we all know isn't good.
Anyway I said this is what I'm doing for the next 30 days...if you want biscuits (cookies to we Americans') then you'll have to buy them....and you may have to make your own dinner some nights as you might not want what I'm fixing.
He was fine with it!
But kudo's to you for sticking with your plan surrounded by temptation Annette!
And Epi my good decision today is not to let my dentist appt. interfere with my stuff...and yes it hurts but sod it I say! Keep Calm and Carry On! hahahaha
I hope everyone has a good day and is happy and healthy!
Jenn
Red face My Sofa and I
My sofa and I had a very close relationship going on yesterday.
The amoxicillin made a right mess of my tummy so I was tired and up and down running to the bathroom (enough said about that )
I ate yogurt and scrambled eggs for breakfast and lunch respectively, and then some more yogurt for dinner...
Today:
My mouth is really sore, but I'm doing my yoga and strengthening exercises anyway...
I did manage to get some sewing done on Friday...I made a project bag for my mother in laws knitting which I'll give to her next month when we go to England for a visit.
Right well I do hope everyone is well, happy and making good decisions for themselves!
Best
Jenn
I am totally living vicariously through you Libby!
Did you do anything special this week to lose?
If you did would you please share? I need something new and different to add to my routine!
I bought the parsnip chips to take to the party. A little lower sodium than potato chips and people thought I was eating junk instead of vegetables. No, in my opinion potatoes are not vegetables.
Oh yeah, I went to a party yesterday after reading all day. One of the party goers that was my age took my pulse to determine if I was still alive. I just warned her that I don't drink, I don't smoke, I don't swear, I don't do drugs, I don't eat junk food, and I don't have sex. I was just meaning that I don't look like I'm having fun to their standards.
Of course everyone at the party was in different stages of a buzz, some needing to spend the night while others were simply in need of a designated driver.
I did go for a walk at the party. 30 minute walk in the woods over horse trails and walking paths. It would have been better alone instead of having to keep up to a group of younger people, however with a cougar in the area, I won't be walking alone.
I didn't partake of the Castle Piñata, however I did enjoy that two knights came over with their javelins to open it.
I also didn't drink wine, even though we were served by a Bar Mouse Maid.
I should have stayed later to find out what else was coming to visit from the larping event.
I chose to eat salad and a baked potato off the grill. I drank water. And finally I had a test spot done on my arm for a henna tattoo in my future.
I just learned I have another birthday party on Wednesday, but it won't even come close to this one.
