Motivation & Accountability Thread, June 1-7: New Month, Fresh Start!
#11
I've been known to wear two bras for vigorous exercise.
So I did mow the lawn today. Just about did me in because there was so much moisture in the high grass. It wasn't mowed while I was stranded in the mountains for a week and I only got half done before going to War over the weekend. My son told me that he would do it, but he didn't.
Now tomorrow's work out could be the front yard or weeding garden patches.
Or I could just do dishes.

The scale was kind to me this morning. I hope it is good for the rest of the month. My tasks for the day is dishes and vacuuming. That should get me sweating. At least that is the plan. I will let you know tonight how I did.
Dishes and vacuuming DONE.

Epixi: If you go to a GNC store, you can buy individual pouches of protein powder in several flavors. The muffins I made last weekend were made with flaxmeal and protein powder. They had the best taste of any I have made yet--and I cook A LOT! I LOVE trying new recipes and new foods. They were great in the morning with a few sausages for breakfast and were a great snack too.
Libby: Yeah for you!
Annette: Asthma and allergies won't let me work in the yard or garden, but I enjoy canning/drying/freezing foods and cooking. Don't know that I could stand wearing TWO bras! I sometimes have issues with wearing ONE!
Time to finish cleaning my kitchen! Vicki

Vicki, the last asthma attack I had was when I was still a smoker. Yeah that's a smack myself in the head moment.
I would like to say that all my allergies are in the kitchen, but they are also in the bathroom. Foods (tree nuts, bananas, fermented foods), beauty products (anything containing baby oil or tree nuts), outdoors in the fall, anywhere that nut trees grow.
I rested yesterday, or rather I caught up on dishes. Today I am resting again. I am cleaning out the oven because I exploded a potato, and apparently I am figuring out how to clean out the water softener.
Both will burn some calories, but not as much as if I were say mowing the lawn.
20 minutes of lawn left to mow. Hoping my son will wake up and do that.

Yesterday, I gave myself permission to cheat today. I prepared for it, I psyched myself up for it. You see, yesterday I discovered that today, June 5, is National Donut Day here in the US. National Donut Day!!! Woohoo!!! FREE DONUTS!!! Yes, please!
So I drove over to Dunkin Donuts and went up to the drive through. You could only get the free donut if you ordered a beverage, so I allowed myself to order a big ol' coffee. I rarely drink coffee anymore because I don't want to account for the cream. But today, for National Donut Day? I'm throwing caution to the wind. Donut AND coffee. Yes, please!
Except one thing. It was the end of the day and they'd run out of the one donut variety I wanted. Actually, they'd run out of just about ALL the donuts. I think she said they had about 5 donuts left, PERIOD.
So, I ended up staying on plan, even though I hadn't really intended to. It simply wasn't worth it to me to break plan for a donut that wasn't my absolute favorite.
Oh well, there'll be other opportunities to break plan, of that I can be sure .
Hope you all had a pleasant day, donuts or no.

I hope this post doesn't trigger anyone to break plan. I tried to wait until it was late enough so folks wouldn't go rushing out for donuts.

- Explore! Try something new or do some nutrition-related research at least 2 times:
- Friday: Tried to break plan in honor of National Donut Day (see post above). Things didn't work out as planned, so I ended up NOT cheating .
- Friday: Went to GNC (thanks for the tip, Vicki), but the one near me didn't have small packs of unflavored protein powder. They only had the big canisters. Oh well, I tried. I know a place that sells single-serve packs, so its all good.

I get kicked back to Log-In quite frequently--especially when I'm putting in my foods for the day
Epixi: Sorry you couldn't find what you needed at your local GNC--my is always very well stocked. That's quite humorous about your scheduled 'cheat day' not being a 'cheat' at all!
Today's a quiet day on my homefront. Think it's nap time! Vicki
