Default Motivation & Accountability Thread, May 11-17

Is this a first? The first week that no one started a M&A thread?

I suppose I've broken the spell, though, by posting this .

No time now to post up any goals, plans or strategies right now. I'm hoping I'll get to them on Wednesday. Meantime, y'all, please let's get things going!

Hope everyone had a Happy Mother's Day!

No it's not a first. Last fall we went a couple of weeks without and I finally started posting them again.

I might have tried yesterday if I hadn't been surrounded by toddlers/preschoolers. While babysitting my grandchildren, one kept me going steady with translation and interpretation.

Granddaughter: Look Beverly! (while holding up dirty fingers)

Me: My name is Grandma (or Annette if you're not my grandchild)

The other played happily with toys, unless I looked the other way for just a second. I rescued a plant, the scissors, my laptop, a cat, and I don't know where he found that baked potato.

Anyway, my arm muscles hurt like crazy today from packing around 28 pounds of squirming boy and 34 pounds of girl. At least the girl knew to hang on.

Hey guys! Glad to see you didn't give up. Epi, thanks for starting us. Annette, that list of rescues was too funny.

Goals:
1) stretch: Y, Y
2) meditate early: Y, N
3) clean food, mostly, without deprivation: Y, Y
4) throw out 5 papers or discard five items daily: Y, Y
5) write, write, write: Y, Y

Goodness, I've never seen it so quiet

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My Strategy for the Week (May 11 - May 17):
  • 7-day Rolling Average calories = 1400-1450: 1700, 1610, 1500, 1499
  • 7-day Rolling Average water/tea, minimum 2500mL (10+ 8oz glasses): 3188, 3053, 2990, 3061
  • 7-day Rolling Average sodium = 1000-1400: 2160, 2117, 2173, 2260
  • 7-day Rolling Average sat fat = under 18g: 25, 25, 23, 23
  • Macro -- 7-day Rolling Average Fats = 50-60g: 73, 70, 66, 65
  • Macro -- 7-day Rolling Average Carbs = 125-135g: 171, 155, 143, 138
  • Macro -- 7-day Rolling Average Protein = 100-110: 92, 89, 80, 84
  • Macro -- 7-day Rolling Average Fiber = 35-45g: 25, 19, 14, 10
  • Explore! Try something new or do some nutrition-related research at least 2 times:
Geez! Look at all that RED!!!
Well, last weekend was, indeed, my Blow-Out weekend. On Saturday, I had over 3500 calories for the day. That's more than double what I've been eating per day for the past several months. For both Saturday and Sunday, every metric was High High High. I knew it was going to be that way and had been planning for it since January. I enjoyed the stuffings out of the weekend and have no regrets whatsoever.
Sadly, one Blow-Out weekend translated into a 5 pound gain on Monday. I know it's probably mostly water retention (sodium was through the roof all weekend), but it's still disheartening. I have to remember that in order to gain a solid 5 pounds of fat, I would have had to have eaten 17,500 calories. Yeah, I had a Blow-Out but it wasn't THAT much of a Blow-Out .
Anyway, Monday was the day to get back on track, so I've been working all week to bring things back in line. Because my numbers are Averages, it will take some time for everything to even back out. The good news is 2 of the pounds are gone already. I hope by next Monday to be back to where I was before Blow-Out.
Well, that's my tale. Anyone else want to share?
Hi, Bea! Good to see you!
Summertime Slump? It's not even summer yet . I hope the lack of activity is because people are happy and just too busy making progress to spend time writing about it. I hope it's not because people have lost interest or, worse, because they've lost their way and are discouraged.
Heh chances are, it's because they're tired of the constant log-offs. I already made this post once and forgot my own rule (copy first BEFORE hitting Submit). True to form, I got logged off .
Anyway, glad you popped in!
((Note to self: copy NOW before hitting Submit))
I do see the log offs happening!
I'm trying to lose a years worth of weight in 5 weeks!! (Think I'll be successful?)
|It is exactly 4 weeks and 5 days til I board a plane for the UK, and meet someone I have been talking to for about 12 years I'm excited and nervous, and need to ensure I can walk around London etc!
I went yesterday on a 4.5 km walk, and I surprised myself 4.5 km, according to google maps. I assume that is pretty accurate, and I did it in 50 minutes!
So this is my new goal ..that circuit daily
Go, Bea, go!!! That's the way to do it! ((But don't go too far -- it's just you and me, holding down the fort)).
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

My Strategy for the Week (May 11 - May 17):
  • 7-day Rolling Average calories = 1400-1450: 1700, 1610, 1500, 1499, 1475
  • 7-day Rolling Average water/tea, minimum 2500mL (10+ 8oz glasses): 3188, 3053, 2990, 3061, 3132
  • 7-day Rolling Average sodium = 1000-1400: 2160, 2117, 2173, 2260, 2303
  • 7-day Rolling Average sat fat = under 18g: 25, 25, 23, 23, 22
  • Macro -- 7-day Rolling Average Fats = 50-60g: 73, 70, 66, 65, 63
  • Macro -- 7-day Rolling Average Carbs = 125-135g: 171, 155, 143, 138, 135
  • Macro -- 7-day Rolling Average Protein = 100-110: 92, 89, 80, 84, 86
  • Macro -- 7-day Rolling Average Fiber = 35-45g: 25, 19, 14, 10, 7
  • Explore! Try something new or do some nutrition-related research at least 2 times:
    • Not sure of the day, but tried the vanilla protein powder. It tasted better than it smelled, but not by very much. Most of it ended up going down the drain.
    • Also tried baking with it. I made a batch of corn and bran muffins, most of which were regular but two of which had added protein powder. I haven't tried them yet -- they're in the freezer.
    • Thursday: Saw an interesting article about people who did some workout challenge for 90 days straight. Every single day. They were all happy with the results! But I'm not sure why -- they all gaind weight and had higher BMI. They all had *slightly* lower body fat percentages and *slightly* higher muscle mass. All in all, it didn't seem like the challenge proved what it set out to prove. I wasn't impressed.
