Lisa, I don't really have a recipe. It's all about my mood and what's in my fridge. Right now the yogurt is past date so I have to use it up. Next week it will be sour cream and the week after that it will be past date milk from the baby. Grandchild that is.
I mix up a flour blend using rye flour, whole wheat flour, and ground flax. To make one waffle I mix 1/3 cup of that, only because I have too many 1/3 cup measuring cups. I add a little baking powder. Measured in the palm of my hand. Then I add an egg and two generous spoons of (yogurt this week). If I crave flavor, I add whatever I crave. Rum flavoring with a handful of raisins. A handful of blueberries. Banana flavoring because I am allergic to real bananas. Chopped apple with cinnamon. Pumpkin with pie spices, or just the spices.
Oh, and I add water to thin it out some unless I am using milk.
My cooking is way too erratic to write down the recipe. I could try to make exact measures once to give it to others.
This is a low sodium, low sugar, low fat variety.

Nearly 24 hours with NO posts? Has everyone lost interest? In the thread? In the whole dieting/nutrition journey?
Or has everyone simply gotten fed up (heh see what I did there -- "fed" up?) with the constant logging-off issue here on Fitday? I've been logged off 3 times already this morning and it's darned annoying. Will we all drift away? And who'll turn off the lights?

Lisa: Happy anniversary! 21 years, woohoo! To answer your question, turns out, genetics plays a HUGE role in determining the speed with which one loses weight. Some people are simply destined to lose in ounces (that's me). No matter what I do, or how well I stick to a plan, I'll probably never be one of those lucky people who lose 1-2 pounds a week. It's so frustrating . Another key factor is how efficient the body is. The more efficient the body is, the slower it will lose weight. Apparently, I'm super-efficient. Usually, one would think efficiency is a good thing, but in this case, it's not. Not unless there's a famine. Basically, I was doomed from the start. Disheartening.
Hope: I think you're right about celebrations including foods we'd like to avoid. I don't think a birthday party with nothing but celery would go over very well!
Annette: You sound like a cooking free-spirit . Throw stuff together, see what comes out.

My Strategy for the Week (May 3 - May 10):
But y'know what? I DO deserve the celebration because I've worked HARD for the past 4 months. I may not have the results, but I've darn sure put in the effort. So I'm going to cast aside the part of me that says I don't deserve it and I'm going to enjoy every second (and every calorie) of my Blow-Out Weekend.
I'll get back on track on Monday. Heh and with my super-efficient body, I'll probably be 5 pounds heavier. I can't win.

My Strategy for the Week (May 3 - May 10):
- 7-day Rolling Average calories = 1400-1450: 1400, 1407, 1400, 1407
- 7-day Rolling Average water/tea, minimum 2500mL (10+ 8oz glasses): 3191, 3330, 3401, 3116
- 7-day Rolling Average sodium = 1000-1400: 1121, 1057, 978, 991
- 7-day Rolling Average sat fat = under 18g: 19, 18, 19, 19
- Macro -- 7-day Rolling Average Fats = 50-60g: 60, 59, 57, 58
- Macro -- 7-day Rolling Average Carbs = 125-135g: 145, 151, 144, 144
- Macro -- 7-day Rolling Average Protein = 100-110: 85, 87, 93, 94
- Macro -- 7-day Rolling Average Fiber = 35-45g: 31, 34, 34, 33
- Explore! Try something new or do some nutrition-related research at least 2 times:
- Monday: Purchased a small pack of protein powder. Haven't done anything with it yet, it's just in the pantry. Waiting...
- Wednesday: Looked up a few protein powder recipes, but they all require more things than I currently have. I'll have to pick ONE recipe and go shopping. In the meantime, maybe I'll mix some in that hot cereal tomorrow...
- Wednesday: Read some articles on slow losers (who, like me, aren't slow by choice). Genetics, again. DARN! Doomed from the start!

Yeah, after typing that out yesterday I added oatmeal to my waffle. It is a little high in calories but I figure that it covers two meals and I'm burning it off in the yard.
I finished the front yard yesterday, today I mow the back. This will be much easier.
I also have errands to run today so I have to remember to bring my water. It's a warm one coming up.

Hey, folks! Busy and enjoying this wonderful weather!
Washer could be fixed--don't need a new one--got one more load and I'll be caught up with laundry for a few days.
Had a can to explode in my cabinet--that meant I had to haul everything out and clean that. Oh, well, I need to go thru all that stuff anyway!
Fresh veggies--squash, green beans, tomatoes and onions-- from a local Farmers Market.
I'm starting on my cooking for the weekend. Got a new recipe to try for a dessert--Lemon Poppyseed Cake--made with almond flour and a splenda/stevia blend. Sounds good and looks pretty in the picture.
Had a NSV today--I've lost another inch in my waist and 3 inches from under my bust!
Regardless of what the scale says, I feel victorious!
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY! To all of us--we did something amazing--we created another human being! Celebrate it! Vicki

Vicki: Congratulations on your NSV! Those are always so sweet. And happy to hear the washer could be repaired. As usual, you are very busy and industrious! I get tired just reading about your activities .

I plan to log everything, regardless of how decadent and outrageous. Should be some interesting numbers come Monday .
